Beard's gone and he will never be a coach at Texas again. Arguing about him still being here is almost as bad as people still arguing over 2 QBs we had back in the day and yes, I left their names out on purpose.
CDC had no choice to fire Beard and then hire RT after the run he had, especially with the support of all the players. Now if he falters in the next couple of years, I think CDC will fire RT. Of course, the big question is who does he go after? I have some thoughts, but he doesn't call me to ask my opinion.

Police reports aren't sacrosanct. She slapped the glasses off of his face. She even admitted afterwards that she instigated the altercation.

That was strange. They all loved him during that run and then most left after the season. By then, he was already hired so not much CDC could do.

If we're in for a couple more years of this, then Texas hoops will die on the vine. RT is not the guy. It's just going to get worse.
CDC did have a choice. But I think his better judgement was overruled by RT's popularity. And now CDC is paying for that.

Without getting political, CDC really didn't have much of a choice. Guess we'll agree to disagree.
If you remember, I was wanting Texas to go after Scott Drew (Baylor) or Nate Oats (Bama).
There is still a season to play out before we know what needs to happen with RT.
If they continue to lose a lot, miss the tourney, I think he's gone.
Finish middle of SEC and make tourney, lose early, I think he's gone.
Finish at or near the top of the SEC, make a sweet 16 or better tourney run, he may get some more time.
These are written in the order of likelihood.

Tenn wins 74-70. With a little more than 5 minutes left in the game, Texas had the ball and a 4 point lead. While trying to force a pass to Johnson, Larry threw it right to a Tenn player. They scored to cut the lead to 2 and the momentum swung to their side.
Texas is now 0-13 vs #1 teams.

This basketball team is wild. We beat the teams we should but somehow can't beat ranked teams. That will definitely need to change during SEC play. Idk, hope isn't lost. But these guys need to figure it out. It's easy to blame the coach, but is it really RT's fault that these guys unravel? Hard for me to put unforced errors on the coach. Like blaming Sark for a false start. I like RT; seems like a good guy. But I do think his job is on the line this season. I hope the team figures it out.
If it were a game here and there that the team unraveled I wouldn’t blame the coach, because even great teams will have an off day. The problem is this team has consistently unraveled over the past season and a half. That to me puts it more on the coaches.
Shit 22% from the floor and had 20+ turnovers.

Coaches are supposed to address and eliminate weaknesses, such as false start penalties like you mentioned. It is a correctable mistake.
If you'll remember the game where Cam was penalized for several false starts . . . his next game was penalty-free.
I don't see RT doing this. Your team reflects your own personality and character. RT should call TO whenever he sees the first sign of unraveling. And he should be addressing it in practice as well. It is correctable.
