The SEC thread

I doubt Venables has any agreement, any unlilely informal agreement wouldn't be honored if ou decided Venables was a liability.

Venables current buyout is about 30 million, not sure how much it goes down after this year. Assuming their season goes as badly as many expect, it will be interesting to see if they let him try a different O coordinator, or show him the door. Seems it would be difficult for Venables to attract a top flight O coordinator after this year. Kind of reminds me of Charlie Strong getting a 4th year and managing hiring Sterlin Gilbert.
This situation is very similar to Charlie's last year. There's discussion on X about re-hiring Lincoln Riley as OC once he is fired at SC. I really hope that does not happen. That would make the Red River game much more interesting.

:ROFLMAO: I'd be very surprised if Lincoln Riley would take the demotion and go back to Okie-homa when he can live on his buyout on his house overlooking the ocean

Lincoln Riley has an 88 million buyout, so I don't see him getting fired this year.

Lots of bad blood between Riley and ou. I don't see Riley being interested in returning to Norman, and I don't see ou being interested in hiring Riley , if he was to be fired.

That would be hard to believe. Riley burned ou pretty badly, took their top player, and left with a day's notice. If ou really considers that, then they are far more desperate than we're thinking.

Good point and why the hell would Venables want him on his staff. If ou allowed him back, first sign of trouble…

Kind of surprised the aggies aren't higher. They have a soft schedule, other than Texas. It must be the QB situation. Weigman hasn't shown he can lead them and Reed doesn't have the experience. Georgia has a tough schedule but I expect them to be in the CCG.
Until Horns show me gonna be Georgia as fav. If Quinn can get rid the wild eyed look and Sark can scheme something against Kirby's defense. One thing for goin in our favor, don't think Kirby can get his team up like that again

If Weigman starts again, Elko should be fired. Um, I mean Elko should get a contract extension.

They have the easiest road to the SEC champ game. If we hold up our side and beat ark, I expect our game against ag to be for the right to play in the champ game. ags looked really good against lsu; it pained me to say that.
