Patterson is interviewing Strong today

if any of those names Chip mentioned today outside Gruden are hired I will be shocked. throw enough out there and they have covered all their bases so can claim victory. They may be right but I think Patterson is going through the motions and will talk to several...then wrap it up by next week after the bowls are over

It should also be mentioned that Texas would likely not have to sit down with a Nick Saban for a formal interview. Patterson already knows him personally.

I also cant see them sitting down with a Fisher before the title game

how many names have they thrown out now? Its hard to keep up. One day its Fisher, the next Strong, the next Gruden, they next Art Briles is being mentioned. I dont know who Texas is going to hire, but to watch people melting down over there how because Patterson may "gasp" talk to several people is hilarious.

Im sorry - Steve Patterson is not going to set his career on fire by hiring someone like a Greg Schiano, James Franklin, etc. Give me a break

I think the reaction would be more "meh" than fail.

All of them could end up doing very very well here, they just aren't as known quantities as the other names being floated.
