Patterson is interviewing Strong today

You guys are funny. You won't believe this report but you lap up any report of Harbaugh, Saban and any other fantasyland candidate. Maybe we really are settling for one of these lesser candidates. I know it's shocking but may just be the reality.

I don't lap up anything, Sir. I didn't say I didn't believe it, I said I eye-rolled. You may not think much of what Texas can bring home for dinner, and you're welcome to set your sights on the chicken, but I ordered the filet mignon.

if we end up with Strong, Fedora, Franklin or Briles- i think the overall perception will be "FAIL". Not saying the end result will match but i think that would be the initial reaction.

Strong and Briles will both bring universal praise from the media and college football talking heads. Way off base with the fail comment on those two.

Franklin not near as much and Fedora would be questioned.

Seriously though, this is part of the vetting process. In order to maintain a semblance of process, Patterson must interview several candidates. Strong, Franklin, Fisher, Briles, etc., will all likely be interviewed as part of this. I'm good with it. I like the way it's progressing, at least from what I have heard and read.

Agree, both Strong and Briles are highly thought of right now. I honestly would not be dissapointed in either of them. Franklin and Fedora does nothing for me, but I admit I have not researched them as much,

I don't think one. Of the qualifications on Patterson's list is that the eventual hire must give a boner to the keyboard crowd......but I could be wrong.

If that was Patterson (no clue if it is and not saying it is) the plane left Louisville area at 5:30pm and is headed back to Austin. Was there for about 5 hours.

I love it how people say that a particular coach is weak, when they really have no clue... I understand if you don't like a coach then just say you don't like a coach... for example. . I don't like Saban because I think he is a jerk, but he can certainly coach. I like Strong because of his personality, but I would agree he has a low sample of coaching. .. but has done well where ever he has coached.
