he'll be having his own pro day at A&M on March 27.Wow, Johnny Football won't throw at the NFL Combine or A&M's pro day? He must really wanna play for Cleveland! Big mistake, IMO.
Well, JFF has added weight and his trainer says he's more focused on preparing for a 16-game NFL season than impressing at the Combine. Goal is to prevent injuries and add bulk to take the pounding. Smart goal, IMO.Wow everyone thought Manziel was gonna run in the 4.5s
Doesn't that take away from one of his best attributes? I guess he's really banking on his development in the pocketWell, JFF has added weight and his trainer says he's more focused on preparing for a 16-game NFL season than impressing at the Combine. Not really. He still runs better than most NFL quarterbacks. JFF needs to develop his pocket passing, priority #1. He won't be around long if he doesn't.Doesn't that take away from one of his best attributes? I guess he's really banking on his development in the pocket
I hear a lot of commentary in the media that JM's arm strength is a concern, but those comments are always quickly followed with the opinion that a few improvements in his throwing motion are all that is needed to fix the problem.he'll be having his own pro day at A&M on March 27.
top round QBs dont throw at the combine that often. nothing to gain.
It's his speed and quickness that has kept him from taking a pounding. If he loses that, he's toast.Well, JFF has added weight and his trainer says he's more focused on preparing for a 16-game NFL season than impressing at the Combine. Running better than QBs is fine. But 4.68 sounds like he's gonna struggle running better than nfl pass rushers. Not really. He still runs better than most NFL quarterbacks. JFF needs to develop his pocket passing, priority #1. He won't be around long if he doesn't.
That eliminates the Manziel factor. He's a mobile QB. He's not a pocket passer. He won't do WOW things if he's not mobile.Well, JFF has added weight and his trainer says he's more focused on preparing for a 16-game NFL season than impressing at the Combine. Manziel has a weak arm by nfl standards, he struggles to go through progressions, he is turnover prone, and he has never displayed any sort of pocket presence.Manziel is the best passer in this draft, and that is not just the Aggie speaking in me. Biggest knock on him by most is his durability, so he bulked up( has been progressively getting bigger since Spring 2013). He has never been sub 4.4 (in his own words) and his mobility is not based around speed but agility and quickness.
