There weren’t many leaks when UT and ou jumped shop to the SECYou would think negotiations for an early exit would have started by now. There would have been leaks.

Agreed, but that was an outlier. As a matter of fact it was amazing they kept under wraps for as long as they did. It was only when aggy found out that it was leaked. There weren’t many leaks when UT and ou jumped shop to the SEC
Negative. When the three parties begin that conversation, it will be started by the Big 12. But it will happen. There are stinks to be raised, so to speak. You would think negotiations for an early exit would have started by now. There would have been leaks.
Why do you say that? I would think UT & OU would be more motivated for an early exit, so therefore would need to initiate the conversation .Negative. When the three parties begin that conversation, it will be started by the Big 12. But it will happen. There are stinks to be raised, so to speak.
If it were up to UT, we'd already paid whatever they want and left for the SEC.Why do you say that? I would think UT & OU would be more motivated for an early exit, so therefore would need to initiate the conversation .
Honestly and I'll probably get trashed for this, Texas and OU need to back out of the SEC deal. The 14 team Big 12 is legit. If it were up to UT, we'd already paid whatever they want and left for the SEC.
The issue is OU. They can't or won't pay and UT won't pay for them. I suppose that means that whatever discounted agreement we might come up with, OU can't or won't pay it.
There are some things involving the sudden expansion that will eventually give us some leverage.
They added no real major power. Cinncinatti was a cinderella story. BYU is consistent but never great. Houston is Houston. Just nothing to really get excited about.Honestly and I'll probably get trashed for this, Texas and OU need to back out of the SEC deal. The 14 team Big 12 is legit.
Staying out of the SEC was hurting us in recruiting and allowed aggy to catch UT in revenue. Moving to the SEC will help the Longhorn brand (both in image and revenue), help in recruiting and give us a much more interesting and compelling schedule. There is zero chance of Texas and 0U reversing course.Honestly and I'll probably get trashed for this, Texas and OU need to back out of the SEC deal. The 14 team Big 12 is legit.
So we're now qualifying teams based on their ability to beat one of our worst teams in the past 40 years?BYU, Houston and Cinncinatti proably beat Texas this year. NIL would take care of recruiting.
Big mistake IMO.
IMO, the Big12 going to 12 or 14 teams was never the challenge if they were going to bring in G5 type teams.Did anybody see the story on CBS Sports about the Big 12 talking to everyone except Texas and OU about a 14 team 2 division conference?

This can't end well. I expect the Big 12 to screw Texas and OU in every way they can which will end up in major lawsuits. Where was this pair that Bowlsby is now wielding when the Big 12 needed to expand? This is the desperate and butt hurt Bowlsby....Well Bob your behind wouldn't hurt if hadn't been caught with pants down and your thumb up your ass.
No I am quaifying teams on thier to beat the worst defensive coached in 40 yeats. I do not prop Texas up by running down other teams. So we're now qualifying teams based on their ability to beat one of our worst teams in the past 40 years?
No, these are not serious player schools. Those are Mountain West type schools.
"Just a second team" ? You are being generous. No I am quaifying teams on thier to beat the worst defensive coached in 40 yeats. I do not prop Texas up by running down other teams.
Texas was great and it pains me to say today they are just asecond team in what you all say is a terrible conference.
They aregoind from a medium sized frog in small puddle to atadpole in a pond.
So you just admitted the conference is terrible. Why stay in a terrible conference? Maybe think about it this way. Previously, the administration & others making decisions were ok with Texas being a "second team, medium sized frog" because the money was still coming in. It was easy to stay back and let the program roll on cruise control because the money was still gonna come in. CDC & Jay Hartzell are not wanting that anymore. The move to the SEC means everyone has to get behind making the football program as good as possible. If you were paying attention you would notice that the current coaching staff, boosters, & AD all seem to be operating that way.No I am quaifying teams on thier to beat the worst defensive coached in 40 yeats. The conference doesn’t care if you win. It only cares what you bring to the other members. Texas brings eyeballs. We have stunk but the highest rated games have been ou and Longhorn games. We average 2.3M per game. 12th in nation and 2nd in the Big 12. The 3rd place team OkSt averages 1.6M.Winning or not, Texas is the premier program in the conferebce.
Winning makes the top program. or whykeep score.Or we talking about swimming?
