I was in school then and loved Tim Cambell. I was just like everyone else and thought he was just a throw-in with Earl but it turned out that all the Campbells could ball! I will never forget when they put Earl in at nose on 4th and goal from the 1. Needless to say, they didn’t score. IIRC Tim had a twin brother named Steve who played LB.

I once sat at a table with just Earl and Tim. I still pinch myself. They were huge. Earl's thighs were bigger than my chest.

I got to lift weights with Earl and David Williams a few times and Earl was great. I remember that they all called him “slopjock” back then. I don’t know why and no one would ever tell me but that was his nickname in the weight room. Good times!!

Someone needs to tell OTF that it's Tim Campbell.

Not Tim Cambell ;)

I met Earl getting off a plane from DFW to Tulsa back in the late 80's. He had me hold his spit cup while signing an autograph. In hindsight, I should have asked for the spit cup. Cloning is coming.lol

P.S. I felt like an idiot after I recognized that DD Lewis was traveling with him. Not good for a lifelong Cowboys fan.:giggle:

I was running around town lake a few years/decades back and I saw a guy who looked like Earl coming towards me. I saw his face first and I thought that can't be him. Once I saw his thighs I knew it was him. I gave him a little nod and "hook'em" as I went by.

I had a brush with greatness with Tim Campbell, while signing up my weekend warrior softball team with the City of Austin Parks & Rec Department - where he was employed at the time (late 80s or early 90s). When I realized he was Tim Campbell I asked - "Didn't you play football for the University of Texas?" I made it a point not to mention "Earl Campbell's brother." Being an excellent football player in his own right, I thought he probably had his fill of that inquiry... even while loving his brother. Good dude!!

This is probably thinking too far ahead here but think about 2026:
Wingo - 3rd year
Ffrench - 2nd year
Lockett - 2nd year
Nibblet (Johntay, Deandre if still on team) - 4th year
Livingstone, Butler, Dubose - 3rd year

3 5 stars with experience, plus any of the guys below that remain on team and have developed as upperclassmen. With 2nd year of Arch as a starter.

I don't know if you've seen the video of this but this handler got really lucky that he looked back and was able to dodge that Horn. It could have been really bad.

Those boys know what they are doing. I',m sure each has handled a heifer or a steer at several shows.

I had a cousin who raised a long horn from a calf. He was a big guy and would playfully tossle with that steer until well after it was grown. One day the steer came up behind him wanting to play and hooked him. Didn't gore him but did so much internal damage that my cousin died.
