Just a thought.... I think our AD ought to turn down television money for a 2:30pm kickoff on AUGUST 31.

There's a good possibility that at kickoff it will be over 100 degrees and play will go into the hottest part of the day. Maybe consideration for the 100K fans baking for 4+ hours could trump some dollars through say.... the second week in September? Not to mention the players... I remember speculation that the extreme Austin heat makes the turf dangerous for knee and ankle injuries.

That said, the worst part might be having to endure the sideline reporter holding that giant-round thermometer down by the turf and telling me, for the 500th time in my life, that it is 125 degrees on the playing surface.

Yeah, that 2:30 kick off is a head scratcher. Texas should play all night games for the first three games, at least.

Interesting that ranking are not a factor. I would think at a minimum it should be the final decider vs coin flip, but I would use rankings over say points margin.

ESPN put out an article today that predicted the status of every draft pick. Four of the first five Longhorns drafted will either start or have significant roles on the teams that drafted them. The one not playing is Brooks, but he is expected to be RB1 for Carolina in week 5 at the earliest.
