2024 Recruiting Board/Thread

Hamilton at IT saying Texas coaches had a positive conversation earlier in the week with S Xavier Filsaime and his father.

It sounds like a few staff members will be at a McKinney game in a few weeks.

Not much to talk about at this time, but IT mentioned the staff isn't giving up on five-star LB Justin Williams of Conroe Oak Ridge and they wouldn't be surprised if Coach Choate stops by his school soon.

As far as LB recruiting overall, the staff is very happy with the '23 class so that's given them the luxury of patience at the position.

They don't plan to reach on a player for the sake of numbers, so the portal may come into play in a few months.

The class of 2023 is only 4 LBs and if Blackwell leaves it is all the LBs for next year. As for as the portal there has been more misses than help.

WRs on offence 3 would be nice, unless Red moves back. LBs and DBs on defence are the most needed posistions. Rest ofteam positions are well staffedsome are crowded.

Good to see coaches are trying to fill these needs. Come Dec. we will see.

Any coaches going to the Allen vs McKinney game to see Zina?

Could be but I lost a lot of faith when they picked Baxter over Brooks
I get what you're saying etx, but I don't see it that way. Even though Baxter started the 1st couple of games, Brooks has had the most carries in every game so far. So, I wouldn't say the staff chose him over Brooks. Maybe Brooks got slightly dinged before the start of the season or was getting over an illness and they wanted to work him back in. I don't know if that's the case, but it's possible
