No not worried if he or any one else leaves. Just used him as how short Horns will be at LB. Several will leave for sure.
The way I see it, the Horns will be 4 deep at LB next year for sure with Hill, Lefau, Burrell, Guilette (assuming Guilette stays at LB and doesn't move to edge). If Gbenda and Blackwell return then that is a 3 deep room for 2 spots. I'm more concerned about DL and having quality depth at DB.

Interesting offer here to the former #1 player in the country from the 2019 class.

Alfano started out at Alabama, transferred to Colorado and is now at Lackawanna College in Scranton, PA which plays at the JUCO level.

He was at Alabama for a short time with Sark, Banks and Flood, and he's originally from the same high school as DT Sydir Mitchell.

Many years ago when the 85 limit came in effect, a JC coach told me how to assure a good roster. 3 deep at each position =66. A punter, kicker and a deep snapper = 69. From 85 leaves 16 for various extra depth atsome positions. LB two positions = 6 + 1 for a ideal roster.

Agree 100% on need for DBS On DT Counting Mufphy ( could go pro ) there are 9 at that position. Collins and Carter could return for11.
DE counting Sorrell there are 10. IMO 7 ateach position would be ideaDefence is much easier to keep balanced. Offences vary some need more RBsand some more WRs.

I was a little skeptical of this offer because of Alfano's history of bouncing around, but I was able to message back and forth with him a bit.

I asked if Coach Flood offered with his ties to the Northeast, and he said Flood helped get the ball rolling but Coach Davis made the offer.

South at 247 wrote the same thing, and added that he's yet to talk to Sark.

We'll see where it goes, but maybe this is another high-risk player/personality the staff is willing to take a chance on as they did with Agiye Hall.

IT claims he's not being recruited by Texas.

On WR Ryan Wingo...IT is also saying Missouri has taken the lead.

Missouri's offense, the production of WR Luther Burden and proximity to home are working in their favor right now.

However, they were told "it's not over" and he's still "going back and forth" on his college decision.

IT had two quick tidbits on WR recruiting...

- don't rule out Texas taking two from the portal

- however, not a foregone conclusion that Adonai Mitchell leaves

Putting some hints together over at IT, it appears the reason Texas is still fighting for LB Justin Williams is him reaching out to the staff after the Alabama win.

Hopefully it's a fun one to monitor down the stretch.

IT saying he's in touch with Sark and Coach Choate "pretty consistently."

Originally from Chicago, Williams doesn't have an allegiance to any part of the country, but playing in the SEC is a big factor for him.

Could be but I lost a lot of faith when they picked Baxter over Brooks
Do you know that Brooks is better than Baxter? If so, how?

Baxter has been banged up since week 1 and clearly limited since that time. Curious how you have come to this conclusion with very limited information.

I love Brooks btw and I think he keeps running out there with the 1s going forward, could win the Doak Walker award.

I can see why @Eastexhorn says Brooks is better. I agree with that. Brooks has been putting up the numbers and is clearly the more experienced back.

I think Baxter can and will be better than Brooks before he leaves Austin. But Brooks will be gone when that happens.

Yes, Baxter has been dinged up and we haven't seen enough of him to judge. And perhaps that is why Brooks is so clearly the better back right now.

As for as knowing none of us do. We can only use our eyes to watch preformance on field.

SHA answered much better than I can.

Yes Baxter is gimpy so why in the wide world of sports are they playing him? Let him heal. IMO Blue is better than Baxter at present condition. Baxter might have more potential or as some say a higher ceiling, but so for has not showed in on field.

Great problem to have to argue about

Surely Soloman Williams isn't still leaning aggy? What a joke of a program.
I don't know what they offer DL in NIL, but it seems like it's a pretty penny for recruits to pick ATM. How sad, all that money to go 6-6 or 7-5 and not properly developed.
