2024 Baseball Season Thread

A well coached, well pitched and well played game. Just did not get the win.
Offense just did not perform when needed. I think it was twice we loaded the bases with no outs and only got 1 run out of it both times.

I will trust CDC on this. He will make a move when its appropriate. But I do think it's time to take a serious look at Pierce. He has made some questionable coaching decisions on his staff.
Sorry man. I liked this comment last night and totally forgot about it just a minute ago. I basically stated the same thing you did, my bad.

Pierce has had some good ultimate results but the process of building a champion seems off with him.

Compare it to Sark. The early results were rough, but even early you could see how he was building this team. It didn't take long and last year showed some good ultimate results.

Terry has also had some good ultimate results, especially last year, but I am still uncertain of how he will do with the building process. Next year will tell us that.

Results : Pierce > Sark (getting close to Pierce) > Terry
Process: Sark > Terry > Pierce

Good to see the rotation change with Whitehead and Grubbs at the 2 and 3 starters. Get bullpen set and this team has enough offense to be really good. Watch out for that tall freshman #8 to continue to grow and help this offense score

For results, I'd have Sark at least tied with Pierce, if not ahead. In football, you don't have midweek games to experiment with your lineup like baseball does. It's win every week or you could be out.

Win today and Texas would have won first 2 conference series and be 4~2 in conference play. I will take it.

I could agree with that, hence the parentheses regarding Sark. The CFP is a big accomplishment, and to me, does outmatch Pierce finishing in the top 4 at the CWS. Pierce just has more time under his belt and has 2 more conference championships and 3 total CWS trips.

Sark makes the CFP next year and I think he'd definitely be ahead of Pierce (unless Pierce returns to Omaha once again this year).

Baseball is as much a process during the season as much or more than any sport out there.
