Not your best work here…. Pierce makes rotation change, Hurley doesn’t start Game 3 and he goes with Grubbs.

Will remake the point that early in every season Pierce moves pitching around until finds combinations he trust. Interesting to see howthis team develops.

So when we say coaching Is problem in baseball, just a few facts for those who are disatisfied. Just last 3 years, and most teams would kill for this high level…

* 2021 won conference lost in 3 game set to Miss State 4~3 In final 4 at CWS. Finished season ranked 3rd.
* 2022 started 5~7@ rallied into CWS finished season ranked 9
* 2023 won conference, lost in 9th inning of super regional game 3. 2 outs in a tie game and DC lost the ball on what should have been out number 3. A freak play, but if he catches ball odds are Texas makes their3rd straight CWS.

Forgive me if I just don’t understand the disdain for Pierce. I am goin to enjoy the season and see this team grow. Conference play next weekend, those are the series that matter.

I tend to agree with this sentiment. Every year there’s growing pains but once into the stretch Texas is usually a tough team to win a series agsinst

Texas wins game 3 4~3. Pitching pretty solid today, Texas had 4 errors in game. Think Grubbs did enough today to stay in rotation, i want to see how they use Ace Whitehead going forward. Still lots of work to do, Baylor comes in next weekend, need to take that series and stay in good shape in Big 12.

But it isn’t just a study of stats. Baseball is a game that you can fail 7 times out of 10 at the plate and still be considered playing winning baseball. Ball rolls funny and finds weakness, I would much rather peak in the last 20 games than the first 20… stay tuned.

Slow start or not for us, Washington just won their first series of the year at our house and are below .500. Not a good weekend at all.

This weekend was the worst of the season for this team.

Pierce has had enough success to be granted some benefit of the doubt.

Pierce has also had enough questionable staffing and player moves occur under him that we have to start questioning if he will be a champion builder.

Given his post-season success, should Pierce's seat be hot? No, not at all.

If this season doesn't turn around, and he has another dud next year, things could start to heat up.

How big of a sample size do you need.? 10-8 18 games need bigger? Maybe 36 games is enough.

Thank you for putting my thoughts in writing. Pierce is a good coach but is he a great or elite coach? To me, that has not been answered yet.

Be that said, I'd love for him to prove me wrong and win a NC soon.

First glad Tom isgone. IMO he wasnot suitedto be a Texas coach. Didplay in 4 bowls abd won4. How that stacks up vs Piercsdo not know or care?

Pump the brakes on this talk. Pierce has had plenty of slow starts that have ended in CWS trips. A bit of patience is advised.
