Whoever the top rated RB's are nationally in the 2018 class need to be introduced to Mr. Drayton.

I can't wait to see who Herman sends Drayton after.

....Jav Guidry: Javelin Guidry is a recent move in to Murrieta, CA via Cedar Park, TX. Guidry is a former Houston commit. He is also the reigning 5A TX 100m state champion (10.41 s). I am told that the Texas staff has recently reached out to Guidry. The question is whether he would still have interest in returning to Texas. Guidry isn’t the biggest cornerback but you won’t find many that are as technically sound (he’s the son of a former UCLA CB) or as fast. I’ve personally seen Guidry on multiple occasions and he is glove....

Javelin Guidry (see above) will OV to Texas either Jan 20 or Jan 27

There have been five CBs of Guidry to Texas all within the last 2 days

Besides Calloway (appears unlikely as of today), Guidry looks like the primary remaining CB we are still chasing

Added to Thompson/Boyce (already committed), it is easy to see the new staff has some different ideas on the physical mode of corner from what Charlie wanted

Missing Sheffield is disappointing.  I see improved CB play in 2017 as a key

And Guidry probably will need to r/s.

-----------------------

This is from SCOUT -- "The Top Combine Testers at The Opening Regional Camp Series" -- Guidry was labeled 'fastest man' after all the combine numbers were compiled.  He had a hand timed 4.32 to win a race against the two other fastest 40s.  All of this from last Spring

"TOP 10 40-YARD DASH

The nation's fastest man award will go to Vista (Calif.) Murrietta cornerback and Houston Cougars commitment Javelin Guidry. The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder ran a blazing fast 4.35 40-yard dash, which ended up being a three-way tie (full Top 10 list below), but of those three he also posted the fastest pro-shuttle time to give him the edge and the tie-breaker.

Guidry was also the 5A state champion in Texas before announcing his transfer to Calif., with a 10.41 100-meter time."

A couple more tidbits, Guidry won the 2016 5A 100m with a 10.41.

For comparison, back in 2015, our own Duvernay won the 6A at 10.27 (which was the fastest high school 100m in the US).

Lastly, Guidry's SPARQ score was 113.07 which is a very good score

We should still be able to fit in all the top 2018 DB's. Hill, Boyd, D. Davis, Bonney, Locke, and Elliott will all be gone in 2 years and that will equal out to the last year in High School and a red shirt year for the 2018 guys. Then they can compete and battle out for spots the following year. Cook, J. Green, Jamison at Corners and Foster + another at Safety would be stellar.

"Grant Polley --  Polley is one of Texas’ top offensive line targets and had Herman and co. been at Texas this past year, Polley would’ve likely been an early offer.  I’m told that Polley really likes Colorado so Texas will need to do a lot to sway the talented lineman. However, the good news is Texas CB commit, Kobe Boyce will also visit Texas this weekend and he and Polley are good friends which could help Texas’ cause." – (Super K)

"Guidry .... I believe this is an excellent offer. Jav isn’t the biggest cornerback but he’s smart, instinctive and exceptionally fast. He has the upside to be an all conference CB and given his understanding of the game and elite athleticism, his floor is a reliable contributor ........" (Super K)
