Texas is a professional baseball and will be a football wasteland this year!
Yeah somebody could definitely make a Ranger logo doing the same. Texas needs to fire anyone who has a remote association with their strength and conditioning program. Fire them all.

well, we're not in last place and it looks like our streak of losing 100+ games will come to an end.

Yes, i have the bar set pretty low these days.

An Astros "expectations" thread that is now 5 pages long?

Hey, I predicted 51-111 for the season.  Astros are at 50 wins right now.  Would be nice to see win #51 in Boston.

I'd say, according to my expectations, they're ahead of schedule.   :D

I don't know. Were days from kickoff and there's a pinned landscaping thread.

Plenty of active football threads. Room for multiple topics.

Keep in mind this thread has been active for half a year. Prolonging the misery! My father in law is a diehard Cubs fan, he has become accustomed to losing and expects the worst. Let's hope the Astros can put it together over the next few seasons. Still can't fathom them in the AL, weird.

I expect to see the Astros to languish at the bottom of the division for decades to come.  I see no light at the end of the tunnel, nor do I expect any.  This is the way it has always been and this is the way it always will be. (with the exception of one anomaly - and before steroids were clamped down on)

As long as management is content with the revenues the Astros bring in, there can be no expectations of improvement.

And I don't give diddly about the Rangers.

If Houston doesn't call them all up too early.

Yes, that ranking will likely be lower going into next season due to call ups

But I think still safely in the top 10.  There is some solid pitching depth to the point that the Nov. 40-man roster is going to require some difficult calls and the possibility of losing one or more to the Rule 5 draft is real (been a long time since that happened to this team).  Also, despite losing Aiken & Nix, some of the '14 draftees are already knocking cover off the ball.

But, again, the primary point being that this situation is a dramatic 100% turnaround from the situation in the minors that existed just 3-4 years ago
