Tom Herman

100% get your logic... that said, there is a TON of premature reporting on many sides. If it's not true why would so many outlets just spew bullshit prematurely? What's the benefit? Loss of credibility? I'm asking honestly, not as a dick.
I hear you. IMO, they don't care about credibility anymore. Look at all of the Texas/Saban reporting that happened. Look at the slam job from Burton/247 on Strong last year that drew scorn from even the most avid Strong-haters. It's not about the validity of the story. It's about the clicks and the revenue they get from said clicks. If validity mattered, Hamm wouldn't have his job.

Sir, I couldn't agree more. It's a damn shame that media/reporting has turned to such trash.

I mean you guys let me know how this would make sense from Herman's perspective.

You're two days away from getting a call from Texas, allegedly your dream school, who can pay you as much as anyone in the country to take over an already immensely talented team. Knowing that, you agree in principle to coach another school without creating an opportunity for a bidding war between multiple schools? There is no logic there. Either this is premature reporting or our administration has given Herman an indication that we wouldn't hire him. You let me know which of those sounds more plausible.
Agree. If the reporring is accurate, I could see lsu giving Herman a deadline. Knowing what you posted above, they dont want to get into a bidding war and see an easier path than pursuing Jumbo Fisher. Losing Herman and Fisher would probably mean that Orgeron stays and they seem to want to make a splash. You also have the uncertainty with Charlie's situation, so Herman might miss out on Texas if Charlie stays and LSU if he doesn't meet their deadine. There's a drop off in prestige after those 2 jobs are filled, so I can see where both the reports and your take make sense.

I believe it's that the administration gave the word to Herman that we wouldn't hire him. I saw on the The Brainiacs this morning that someone posted that Chancellor McRaven didn't approve of Herman from something in his past.

I didn't post that since I did not know if that's true or not. However the timing of this leads me to believe that this is what happened especially since we know that the coaching at UT was his dream job.

Football Scoop is reporting we're meeting with his reps tonight. Take that for what it's worth.

I'm tired of watching Buchele flap his arms like a chicken before every snap. That motion hasn't once caused an offsides this season..and he looks stupid.

This is my sixth post in a row here, might need to put the iPhone down and just watch the game!

So Herman can win as the underdog but it's touch and go when he's not? We have no legitimate options IMHO. Strong can't get it done and we can't land a big name.
