Every great coach has an occasional bad loss. They also have a lot of great wins.

Charlie Strong has a lot of the former and very few if any of the latter. The difference between his record and Herman's record is night and day. I don't see how you even compare them.

Considering we can't compare how they both did at Texas, we can only compare how they did at a mid-level school.  I submit that Strong compared pretty darned favorably in that respect.  I would also submit that Louisville's schedule was a helluva lot tougher than UH's.

So, yeah, they can easily be compared.  Do you see now?

The Peter Principle will always come into play.  Strong was over matched at a school like Texas and the results are obvious.  Show me how you can guarantee that Herman won't suffer the same fate.

Hell, even the great Nick Saban was outclassed in the NFL.  He took one step too far - just like Strong did.

I am not comparing Strong and Hermann in the absolute sense. I am saying that Strong is a total failure at UT and Hermann might be better. Jesus he can't be any worse.

  Saw the scroll on ESPN ...it did say that there could be a deal and it could be announced Saturday.  They are referencing Horns Digest as the source so who knows.
