Tom Herman

This is the game that I cannot forgive.

And how does Herman explain the Navy loss?
Every great coach has an occasional bad loss. They also have a lot of great wins.

Charlie Strong has a lot of the former and very few if any of the latter. The difference between his record and Herman's record is night and day. I don't see how you even compare them.

I want Texas FB to be fun again, and I really have my doubts, now, about Strong.  His lack of success here baffles me.  Why did he wait to replace Watson and Wickline, and the man obviously knows defense.  Why didn't he step in and work with Vance, so that the change was seamless, before he had to publicly take ownership?

He knew that Texas fired Mack because we expect a winning program.  He was hired to clean it up and win.  Winning at Texas, as we know, means competing for National Championships, or at the very least, being in the conversation.  It means the same thing at Ohio State, Alabama, Michigan, USC, and a few other places.  We are willing to put our resources to work (legitimately) to get there, while some aren't.  There was no way Charlie was confused about the mission.

I understand that Patterson may have impeded the progress to a degree, but not to this extent.  If Patterson really caused problems, surely Charlie could have mentioned something to a booster who could have gone straight to Fenves, if he didn't feel comfortable with it.

Sorry for rambling, but I really don't get what happened.  Heck, if he needed an executive in charge of football operations to smooth the rough edges, that could have been handled, as well.  I just don't see how he can recover at this point.

That's where I am, sad to say.

The University of Texas is a stodgy old school.  They would never hire Les Miles or Freeze.  Too much SEC shenanigans for UT to stomach.

The only reason they even considered Saban was because...well, he is Saban.

Beyond hysterical smart UT fans, there are a few equally hysterical smart BMD's that want Herman as well.

Fortunately, calmer and more reasonable heads will prevail and a proper vetting will occur Herman will be hiredOf all potential candidates.

This, of course, assumes that Strong is relieved of his duties.  Which I doubt is no longer in doubt.
I fixed a few things for you :)

Per Higs regarding Herman:

"the guy who runs Nike sure as heck likes Herman and has been a big fan since OSU beat Oregon a few years ago....If I am a Texas fan I hope Texas is not in a bidding war with Oregon. That might not end well."

Yeah, I'm not concerned.

Program: Texas > Oregon

Recruiting: Texas > Oregon

Pipeline: Texas > Oregon

Support: Texas > Oregon

Uniforms: Texas > Oregon

Claimed Dream Job: Texas

Easier Transition: Texas

(In Most Extreme Scenario) Capable of Paying the Most: =

If we want Herman, we'll get Herman.

"I ain't banking on Kansas", someone said.

"We will beat Kansas by 30 on a bad day", someone else said.

Trying to remember who said that. 😎
Yea, does anyone know who that dumbass was?

Seems like it was someone who likes to play golf, I think  :)

Remember this though. Just like all those guys who said Saban to Texas was a done deal, I was right until I was wrong. Or something like that  ;)

Higs is a dumbass that is trolling. His only ties to recruiting news is through Strong.

As soon as Strong then higs will be long gone.
