Port Lavaca is about to be in an entire new world playing against these Houston area teams. George Ranch, Angleton, Terry all have a great deal of speed. Gilmer is going to be in the State game this year with Blake Lynch playing WR for them now. I think a team like them or Carthage may be to much. Argyle will probably be pretty good also. IMO Manval will be the best team in the Houston area. They are loaded like a freight train. I plan on posting the top match ups in each area if you guys want to attend some great Texas HS football.

I am wherever the best football game is, within driving distance of course. Not so much early in the season, but play off time I'm on the road every Friday or Saturday.

I'm in the DFW area.

Who knows why, but at every Lewisville Farmers home game, they will announce updates to the Hutto Hippos vs whoever score.

Maybe like we used to announce Slippery Rock?   And a buddy of mine played football and volley ball at Slippery Rock. . .

Echeese, I grew up eight miles from Roscoe in Sweetwater.  Gotta stand up for my Plowboy friends.  There was a joke when I was growing up that the Plowboys shoulda been called the Ploughboys, the "English" translation we thought, because there was this engineer who helped lay out the railroads in that part of the country naming small wayside communities such as Orient and Bronte after literary references.  For some reason us Mustangs like to refer to the Roscoe kids as Ploughboys, and in turn they hated it.  Looking back on it, I cannot fathom why.  Just another reason to be upset about things that do not matter.

The common stingaree (Trygonoptera testacea) is a species of stingray in the family Urolophidae. The most abundant ray in inshore waters off eastern Australia, it generally inhabits estuaries, sandy flats, and rocky reefs from the shore to a depth of 60 m (200 ft). This plain brownish to grayish species has a rounded pectoral fin disc with a broadly triangular snout. Its nostrils have enlarged lobes on their outer margins and a skirt-shaped curtain of skin with a fringed posterior margin between them. Its tail bears a small dorsal fin before the stinging spine, and terminates in a leaf-shaped caudal fin. This ray can grow to 52 cm (20 in) long.

I always like mascots that actually pertain to the region, but then we would have any in icorns, hippos, etc... to talk about. Utah Jazz has always been the most ridiculous.
