My mistake, lots of kangaroos in the greater Killeen area.

I always like mascots that actually pertain to the region, but then we would have no unicorns, hippos, etc... To talk about. Utah Jazz has always been the most ridiculous.

Wasn't that organization in New Orleans at one time before moving ? Thus the Jazz.....???? Don't know my basketball history too well. I hate the NBA ...LOL

Correct on the New Orleans angle. Then NO got the hornets from Charlotte, who on turn got yet another expansion team the Bobcats. Then NO changed to the pelicans, followed by Charlotte taking back their original name the Hornets. Stop letting teams leave towns NBA only to award them another team a few years later.
Sorry, I have hijacked this high school football thread with NBA nickname concerns. My bad.

Port Lavaca is about to be in an entire new world playing against these Houston area teams. George Ranch, Angleton, Terry all have a great deal of speed. Gilmer is going to be in the State game this year with Blake Lynch playing WR for them now. I think a team like them or Carthage may be to much. Argyle will probably be pretty good also. IMO Manval will be the best team in the Houston area. They are loaded like a freight train. I plan on posting the top match ups in each area if you guys want to attend some great Texas HS football.

I love high school fooball more than college football.  I've administered to quite a few of the Houston area kids, so I follow them as teenagers.  My grandsons attend Pearland high school, so I watch them pretty closely.

Manvel is in the same district as Pearland and it is loaded with D1 talent.

Saw Pearland in 7 on 7 this summer... Very talented group with a huge transfer qb.

Not sure cardinals have some sort of history with St Louis, but I've never been able to adapt to the "Arizona" Cardinals. I still mistakenly call them St Louis.

Same thing with the Rams. Just can't imagine Jack Snow and Roman Gabriel in St Louis.
