The End is Nigh

Has it occurred to anyone that Charlie was asked how he wanted the formal announcement handled and he chose to make it himself tomorrow and to give a statement directly to the press?
It has occurred to me and several others that this could be a possibility.

I know one thing some may hate Charlie and some may despise him, but one thing that is for certain is that he's a damn good man and a damn good recruiter that transformed these young guys to men. They may have not been successful out in the football field but there's no question he bought in two of a good recruiting classes and was dealt with a big ship in a small deck by changing the culture of UT. I don't care who don't agree with what I just said there and that's my painfully honest opinion
Sho,

I really doubt people despise or hate Charlie.  I just dont see how that is possible, hes a good man.

I do believe some, such as myself, are embarrassed of the current state of the program.

This sums it up nicely.

Is Saban even a name that is considered?

It was a circus last time.

Herman is a great hire as is a lot of other names.

But somebody had to bring this up.

DMAC,

I was in Gilmer several weeks ago when I was talking to some people regarding CS and some of them couldn't stand him and just trashing him to the core saying F this and F that to him cuz he stunk up the program and was an embarrassment to the football team. That is what I mean by what I said. Now having said that I know he didn't work out and yeah I was embarrassed by what has transpired especially watching the highlights of the Kansas game. That to me was the nail on the coffin to the honest with you.

I saw these pop across my twitter feed and wasn't sure what Diggs was trying to imply: the players didn't execute it's not Strong's fault and he needs to be retained OR the players didn't execute and he needs to be held accountable for that. I don't see the logic of the former - he's in charge, was responsible for recruiting the players and putting them in position to succeed on the field. They didn't and that's on him.

By all accounts the players love Strong but they've been unable to express it through their production on the field. It's a shame it didn't work out here but at the end of the day, Ws matter and everything else (nice guy, players love him, etc.) is all downstream bonus.

does herman leave houston before or after their bowl game?

5.5+mil yr hard to not jump on

People can say what they want about Diggs but I love this guy.

All of these current players being emo about Strong threatening to leave etc should be taking responsibility on the field.
Their passion and loyalty is to be commended. It is simply misdirected. If there is one thing that I have most admired about Charlie Strong it is his core values. I expect that Charlie will show the proper leadership to mend all the fences and allow the next coach a chance at success.

The last time Texas fired the head football coach, the decision split the fan base into factions: pro Mack and never Mackers. Now, if handled incorrectly, there could be a racial divide as well. It is time for Texas to mend fences before taking another step.

Let us find the issues where we all see common ground and build upon that.

I saw that Patrick Hudson tweeted that Strong wasn't going anywhere...is he just delusional?

And that what you just said there Embrey is the one thing that the administrators fear is hopefully this doesn't become racially divided.
