The End is Nigh

Reports from KVUE & AAS is saying that Charlie has coached his last game at Texas. What are your (Mike & Daniel,) opinions on the legitimacy of these reports and whether or not that's a good idea?
Just now seeing this, but I definitely think the reports are legit regardless of how this is being spun by Texas brass. At this point they are just trying to control the message. Strong coaches his final game on Thursday.

Now we are having fun. What the heck is Perrin thinking? Players and media all over Twitter confirming Strong is gone, and Perrin is putting out pre-KU game statements.
It's a sh-- show. Tomorrow is going to be painfully awkward.

"I'm here for the gang-bang."

Hey all.

Got my first ban in 8 years over there. Checking this place out.

Anything big going on with Texas football these days?
Well, there is this one guy this board who plays golf and who tried to tell everyone on here how bad a football team Kansas was. Said no way Texas would lose to them.

As far as Texas football, according to the AD, an evaluation of the season will take place after the TCU game. Don't really know what that is all about.

The team is angry, and the only control they now have is playing.  So, some of them are taking to twitter with that.  Now is a good time to get off of the internet.  That is exactly what I am going to do.

I will check in later.

Hook 'em!

Per OB the staffers, families etc etc have been told by Strong he will not be back...

Welcome NB. This place isn't quite the zoo you're used to, but I encourage you to chime in. Nobody here bites that hard anyhow.

Has it occurred to anyone that Charlie was asked how he wanted the formal announcement handled and he chose to make it himself tomorrow and to give a statement directly to the press?
Dammit Duke, we cannot have rational thought processes making appearances around these parts.

I do too. A good bunch of kids who need to get off the internet this week. Every one of them knew if they let freaking Kansas beat them Charlie was gone. And they let freaking Kansas beat them. They made their statement.

They probably think that if they beat tcu they can still save Charlie's job. The way this season has gone, I fully expect them to show up and play a good game. Too little, too late.

I know one thing some may hate Charlie and some may despise him, but one thing that is for certain is that he's a damn good man and a damn good recruiter that transformed these young guys to men. They may have not been successful out in the football field but there's no question he bought in two of a good recruiting classes and was dealt with a big ship in a small deck by changing the culture of UT. I don't care who don't agree with what I just said there and that's my painfully honest opinion

That's exactly correct. The players knew in advance that if they lost to Kansas Charlie

would lose his job. They played like crap, lost to Kansas and now they want to talk tough

and threaten to transfer and leave the program.

Edit: I hope none of the players transfer.  Most of them are good players and I would like

to see them stay, help the next coach restore Texas Football to its winning tradition and

earn their University of Texas degrees.
