The End is Nigh

Yeah exactly okiehorn. I wouldn't know how to copy and paste on my phone but as soon as I read it I'm like oh boy

Perrin has run smack dab into the Peter principle. Just like Charlie.

I think Perrin's heart is in the right place, but he's making a huge mistake. Either there's no official statement that will be made until after Friday, which leaves a 2-ton elephant in the room for the rest of the week (especially for the presser), or he will come out with a contradictory statement before the TCU game, which will lead to egg on his face, and will ultimately embarrass Charlie even more.

Especially with the players having this reaction, there's no way it's not official already.

While I had no emotional investment in Charlie Strong's coaching tenure, I do feel bad for the players. They're obviously losing somebody who was like a father figure to them.

I hate to say it but if some players transfer so be it.

My allegiance is to my school not any one head coach.

I understand I don't play for Charlie the players do but oh well let them transfer and lets get this program moving in the right direction.

At the very least a winning record.

On another note, if the players really truly cared then show it on the field.  One game this year we had 6 blocked kicks...in ONE game.  Last night 6 turnovers?  Cmon man!

Not trying to be heartless but geez

I couldn't agree more..., ya know I like to think my job can't continue without me when I retire but ya know what, when I take vacation work continues right on long without me. If not better. Same will happen at UT. Recruits will keep on comin. And who says players won't follow Herman to UT??? It will all even out. We will be in a better position than we are. Can't get to much worse.

If an AD is temporary who does he answer to?

If the AD is hired who does he answer to?

Help me out SHA. I want to know how it works.

Whose ears do the donors have? The President? The AD?

Odds are even right now that Texas fans will support a President and an AD that will drain the swamp.

Now here's the other scenario too that I'm just thinking and btw okiehorn you're absolutely right Dak is putting some speck in Dallas right hehehe but I'm also thinking Strong could probably hold a press conference tomorrow morning and talk then.

I was as depressed as I have been for some time as my family watched the Kansas FG and the reaction from the UT players on the field.  In an instant, We all knew it was over for Coach Strong.  Today, to read the devastation from these young men's posts, knowing that their mentor, their life coach as you have it, is gone now.  Makes me feel even worse.

As adults in our respective professional fields, we understand that success is measured by a set of metrics.  It varies per the profession, but we either achieve and are rewarded or suffer the consequences, be what they may, when we fail.  Charlie knew it, understood it, and I suspect will likely accept the outcome with the dignity I've grown to admire.

As a UT alum as so many of us are here, we wait with trepidation as to what the coming months will bring.  Who will the new coach be, how will recruiting go, what will this current team do, how will the University handle the situation to just name a few.  Its hard, but my wife said it best today.  Despite the agony that this year has brought, our family will continue to wear the burnt orange, pray for the best, root for the men and women who represent one of the finest institutions in the land, and put trust in the decisions that are made.  Strap in boys, its going to be interesting.  Hook'em

Whoever they want, whenever they want. They don't dial them up often. So when they do, they get an audience.
