Texas vs KSU Game 3 Thread ***SUN 1:05 PM CST***

T7

Krause

Hits 1st pitch to CJ moving to his right, flips the throw across the diamond and gets the out; 6-3; 1 down

Skip the bump.  Mayes in to P for Texas.

K-State pinch hits a righty, so Skip goes to the pen for Mayes. This is the luxury that Augie talked about at the start of the year.

BTW, ph Thornton went to Cy Falls HS.

B7 (cont) Johnson on 2B; 1 out; New LHP Plassmeyer in for KSU

Nice AB by Johnson - he stood in and fouled off pitches until he saw one he could hit.

New pitcher for KSU is freshman LHP Mitch Plassmeyer. He goes 6'3", 190 pounds and is from St. Louis, MO.

He prefers a nice Rose' or chenin blanc.

B7 (cont) Johnson on 2B; 1 out; New LHP Plassmeyer in for KSU

Shaw

1-0 away

F7; 2 outs

Another pitching change; RHP Benenati to the hill for KSU

New pitcher for KSU is junior RHP Lucas Benenati. He goes 6'2", 205 pounds and is from Santa Barbara, CA.

He thinks hot air balloons are romantic.

Nebraska series is shaping up to be a good one; they're on a 10-game winning streak

Ben Johnson is a great college baseball player: awareness, hustle, strength, speed.

Clemens is impressive in a variety of ways, as well. He is a contributor. He is a pitcher, a great first baseman, he can hold his own batting, and he keeps his head in the game. I think he hit home plate before Johnson hit second. He was ready to go.

I like this team.

B7 (cont) Johnson on 2B; 2 outs; Benenati on to P for KSU

CJ

RIPS a shot to CF, but it's right at the centerfielder; F8

That play was a called hit-and-run.  He was off on first move from 1B.

Hard hit ball to the right of Marlow, he dives and knocks it down, makes the throw to 1B from his knees and gets Yagi 4-3.

It'll be a good test because it's at their place. Their SoS is >100 and those last 10 games haven't exactly been against #stalwarts.
