Super Regionals

I see why A&M hasn't played a good hitting Gideon at 3rd. Nottebrook couldn't hit a beach ball in the post season but was really the only viable option at third it seems.

if i were that 3rd baseman, i would have fired right at that base coach and hit him; that would be interference. i guess you don't think about that if you're an aggie.....
So you are wrong. Here is the rule straight from the ncaa rule book

j. If a thrown ball strikes a base coach on foul ground, the ball is in play. If the coach interfered intentionally with such a thrown ball, the runner is out and any other runners must return to the last base touched;

There would have to be intent to commit interference if the base coach is in foul territory.

So I was curious of the RPI's of the teams that made it so here they are as of 5/23.

Division 1

Arkansas (34) vs Virginia (21)

Florida (6) vs Miami (1)

Division 2

LSU (4) vs TCU (7)

CS-Fullerton (23) vs Vandy (13)

Based on these numbers, Division 2 is the tougher bracket but it also shows why you play the game.

Childress gonna Childress. Reverted back to the same old can't hit their way out of a wet paper bag team that has defined his tenure. Too much talent in the Dallas/Houston area every year to tnot to be winning CWS games. AD Eric Hyman gives both Kennedy and Childress extensions after one bowing out in the second round of the CBI to Illinois State and the other not getting out of regional play.

Accept it. Winning one game in the superregionals is far superior to average aggy outcome. And aggy has never amounted to shit in basketball. Aggy has never amounted to shit in anything, except horse judging and corps humping.

That game last night was sorely mismanaged by both teams' managers. One team had to win and it happened to be the Frogs last night. Ags had just as many chances to win that as TCU did. From a baseball fan perspective it was ugly.

handling of pitchers was curious to me for both.

Agmaniacmike, I admit to only having watched the 9th inning on but I didn't see Childress do that bad of a job. The fact that A&M lost their best 2 pitchers due to injury this year, I think he did an outstanding job.

Last night I saw 2 good teams go head to head & TCU won the extra innings 1-0. Nothing for the Aggies to hang their heads about. Your weakest link, defense, hit you at the worst possible time but isn't that how it always goes? Look at Texas, hitting has been our weak spot & in the game to extend our season we get 3 frigging hits against Dallas Baptist!

OK, no more Mr Nice Guy, back to being no like aggy guy. I do admit to seeing aggy being aggy blaming the ump, their coach, their AD & yelling $ec, $ec when they never ever did that while in the SWC or BIG XII.

If this wasn't a one time thing with Childress, it wouldn't be as frustrating. You can't go 10 years without a CWS win at any big school that prioritizes baseball and keep your job. Last night, A&M hitters played scared and wouldn't swing the bat despite an obvious inconsistent strike zone with the umpire early on. Instead, we continued to look at first pitch fastballs down the heart of the plate on the first pitch allowing their pitchers to throw the nasty off-speed stuff with pitchers' counts. In comparison, look at the TCU at-bats. They had 3 guys in extras work the pitch count to 10 in their at-bats by swinging the bats. TCU won the game because they put the ball in play.
