There is only one bit of good news from the World Series. It is over and we can now concentrate on one of my favorite times, the off season. In it we need some help. On first look here are a few suggestions..
Pitching:
The Rangers, like every other team, needs pitching and in this case I break it down to two needs. Starting and relief pitching.
This team needs a number one guy. A guy who can shut down the other team on a consistent basis and that guy is not CJ Wilson. I really don't care who they have to trade or sign to get one, just go get him.
We have a closer even if he messed up game six of the World series. We need another mid reliever and a good left handed reliever.
Position Players:
First base is a glaring need. We have tried Justin Smolk, Chris Davis and Mitch Moreland, they all failed. I think a good target would be Prince Fielder, but we need a guy who can field and hit. Fielder is not much of a fielder but man he can hit.
Bench:
Still hard to believe the Rangers made it to game seven of the WS with the spare parts on the bench. They need some help here and there may not be a keep other than Craig Gentry on the team. That was the big advantage the Cardinals had this WS. In the National League, because of the pitcher hitting, you need a bench to pinch hit and do double switches.
There is much more but this is a good start..
