Saban- Call Your Shot

I don't think Saban will come to Texas. I don't think he was playing us, I believe he was probably interested but when it came down to it the LHN was a deal killer and our BDM's have proven too meddlesome for his liking. He's only got 3-5 years left and will ride it out with the tide.

We may still get Mack retiring this week and all the best coaches have recently been pulled off the table. We could be left settling on someone and the fan base is going to be disappointed because of the 'Saban Dream' we went all in on and missed out on our opportunity with anyone else.

Saban will make more in Austin period. Saban can win at a third school. If he was so interested in staying in Alabama and squashing these rumors, why not sign a contract? Why not say he will stay at Alabama? Because he does not want a repeat of the Miami situation. He is leaving himself an out so he can say that "I never said I wasnt leaving Alabama"

Every comment attributed to Nick or Terry is consistent with trying to get a BIG raise from UA. You know, so they won't feel so unappreciated.

i suspect UT has been played. Nick will get a huge raise, along with all those other coaches re-upping lately. UT will be stuck with second helpings.

McPhaul..... What about Powers? Here he doesn't want to appear emasculated? Here he is reluctantly willing to get rid of Mack,but STILL not willing to accept Saban...digging in his heels more than expected?

We are talking about the same Powers who was promised political air cover against Perry in return for Powers to do the needful and get rid of Mack after this season? Powers better worry about his damn job. Appearing emasculated is the least of his worries at this point and based on the deal he cut.

My vibe is still our power structure will find a way for the deal to fall through. Maybe it's not being able to agree to all of Saban's terms or not resolving the Mack situation in a timely and amicable manner.

seems that if Saban wanted to put an end to these rumors, it would be quite easy to do so. He hasn't. That makes me believe there may very well be truth to the rumors.
