Saban- Call Your Shot

For those in the "IN" camp, I would be interested to know what fact/sign you most draw your opinion from?
For me, it's the fact that he hasn't signed anything with Alabama. Every other coach who has been remotely mentioned for the Texas job has signed a contract extension with his current school. Gus Malzahn, Jimbo Fisher and Art Briles have all inked new contracts over the past couple of weeks. Why hasn't Saban?

Over the past couple of months, if Saban really wanted to put all of this to rest, all he had to do was walk into the AD office or President's office and sign an extension for whatever he wanted and this entire conversation isn't happening. He hasn't done that. If he signed or agreed on anything this week, his appearance on Gameday this morning was a PERFECT opportunity to announce it. He didn't even get asked about the rumors.

I've spoken with LSU alums and donors that I work with and to a man they admit that Terry dislikes Tuscaloosa. That's not where she wants to live. Many of them fully expect Saban to leave. And believe it or not, Terry has a lot more say when it comes to where Nick coaches than many people realize. And she wants to live in Austin.

In.......Tuscaloosa next season. Never spoke with him since the spring.
You're wrong. Unless you don't consider speaking with Sexton the same as speaking with "him."

Oh boy.you just think our compliance dept and legal team is ignorant? How sad.

Again, bs from rivals isn't a very reputable source. Adults should know this.

Out. I want so badly for this to be true but I fear we're suffering from confirmation bias. That WSJ article with Terry Saban killed all my hope.

That's a convenient assumption to make to lob an insult with. Don't think Lobo suggested anything about the compliance or legal depts.

Things get done without the assistance of the UT compliance or legal depts.

The table gets set for them, not by them.

When Lobo posts, it's usually well thought out and accurate.

Rivals owns that line of thinking? They've been behind EVERYTHING on this. If anything, they'd call Lobo to get an update.

I think he meant rivals - LSU alum (Rivals of Bama) that Lobo referenced. Not OB.

How much trouble did we get in last January when Sexton met with Hicks and Hall? I'll hang up and listen.

You're right. People who know Terry Saban and have wives who speak with her on occasion are TERRIBLE sources of information. They don't know anything. Since I'm a member of OB that eliminates me from being able to bring any information to this site.

He's in...nothing that matters is standing in the way any longer.
Joe Jamail matters A LOT if he wants to. :D He can take UT to court unless Mack Brown says otherwise.

Isn't that indirect information? I'm assuming the info is from someone who "overheard" or "claimed to have heard" from his/her friends / friends' friends / ... / who "had claimed to have talked to Terry Saban".

Such info is not always reliable. Psychologically most people have an innate tendency to "spice up" privileged communications when passing them along.

But if you are certain Saban is definitely the next head coach at Texas, take advantage of the 11.5 betting line and make some money out of it. (wager 100 to win 550 if Saban is the guy.)

I don't know what your agenda is but so far it looks like you only signed up here to put out crap on saban threads. You think it's somehow against the rules for people connected to Texas to talk to sabans agent? Hilarious. If you think people connected to Texas have not talked to sabans agent or his reps since last spring you are dead wrong.

I think the question is "Will Mack Brown go quietly?"

Chip Brown's "Evaluation" piece on OB is outstanding.

what's amazing is how many posts (and I've just read the first several) indicate the key as Mack deciding if/when to retire. There's no way he should be able to hamstring this program anymore, not after the mega-year rebuild resulted in this kind of result.
