I would guess that Oregon and Washington would reduce the B1G team payouts, and going to 18 would make the scheduling harder, and make it harder for them to add Notre Dame in the future.
The only way it would be good is it could reduce the travel burden on USC and UCLA, but it doesn't even sound like those 2 schools like the idea.
For these reasons I think what is happening now between Oregon and Washington is just everyone being polite and doing their due diligence.
Once the B1G says no then those schools need to decide between the PACs bad media deal or the BIG12. If I was a betting man my money would be on the BIG12.
If this happens, and the Arizona smoke is real then the PAC will be down to 6, with all of their biggest brands gone.

If I were the Big 12, I'd take ASU and Utah, too.
