LOL, "breaking news"

Rinse and repeat on Florida State. They aren't going anywhere until the ACC media deal ends.

Depends on how many teams of Pac. 10 join Big 12. Add another couple of teams and have three 8 team divisions

West coast, Texas or southwest and midwest alantic coast. Maybe SMU and a alantic coast team.

Two 8 team division doesn't work very well.  If you assume you have 9 conference games, then 7 are playing in your division,  and only 2 from the other.  The net is you would only play teams in the other division every 4 years.

A 9 game schedule where you have 3 anual games, and you play every other team every other year seems much better.  For a 16 team BIG12 this does require more travel,  but if you are far from the geographic center then no matter what the geography is working against you.

I wouldn't think the BIG12 would take SMU. I would expect them to take whichever 3 or 5 best PAC teams are available to them( Colorado already decided)

Just for the record it was three 8 team div. not two. Not that it matters.

Sorry,  I missed that, but it obviously makes it much worse.  Instead of playing the teams out of your division every 4 years it would be every 8 years.

It wouldn't feel like the teams in other divisions were in the same conference.

IMHO 16 is a very good number, with 3 fixed match ups, everyone else every other year.  Beyond that, and you have to either have more conference games, or play certain teams less often.
