Rumph gone?

Burton says Strong didn't know anything about Rumph until AFTER the initial SI report (see first post in this thread)

Again, its possible this is just spin, we have no way of knowing

well the bigger question at hand is how is this going to affect next years recruiting??? we had so much momentum and i know we still do..opening up the florida pipeline with good quality players..

I think Vaughn is in mostly charge of FLA, so that part should be OK

The 2016 DTs, however, are a real concern

We have time to get it right (I think and hope)

Surprise - an 18 year old doesn't understand nuance.  Next thing you'll be telling me teenagers are reactionary and hyperbolic.

I'd be shocked if Strong told him 'Rumph is staying'.  I find it much more likely Strong told Lampkin that Rumph hadn't accepted any job yet - which was true.

Florida lost their DL coach to the NFL yesterday.

Ohio St lost their RB coach to the NFL yesterday.

UCLA lost their DC to the NFL Weds.

This happens.  Its hardly a surprise.

No doubt..all this hand wringing over this is amazing.  We lost a good coach, some kids are pissed ...This will happen again more than once.  It's frustrating but a part of the game/business.  Relax

if this was gonna happen im glad it happened now instead of after the season started IMO

You mean we didn't have a clause in his contract concerning lateral moves like Okie State had in Wicklines?

Can't believe their lawyers are smarter than ours.

What are you talking about?  Its a buyout - most contracts have them.  Nothing that was preventing Rumph from moving on if he wanted - and why would he sign that kind of contract anyways?

For all we know Rumph (or Florida) is going to pay whatever buy out he had - which for a position coach likely isn't much.

Then help me understand all the fuss over coach Wickline's contract. Is that all there is to it? We just don't want to pay the buyout?

This recruiting season has made me feel like I can't keep up.

I guess I'm too old for that sort of nonsense any more. I don't like Twitter. I'm tired of being afraid all the time. I've decided not to stay. I doubt y'all will kick up any fuss. Not for an erratic poster like me. P.S: Tell Carrera I'm sorry I was texting him about Daylon Mack. No hard feelings. Brasky.
