Everybody see this... I believe several went to the NFL, others jumped laterally to another NCAA program.

In my mind it's somewhat unfortunate that Max Olson is the ESPN beat writer for the University of Texas thereby focusing this story almost exclusively on UT.
I hope this situation does not make it more challenging for recruiting moving forward.

I also hope Charlie hits it out of the park with the Rumph replacement.

If he does... and if both DL recruits end up really liking how the coaching change turned out, then I also hope Max Olson has the insight to write the follow up story...

"Recruits raw deal... turns into tasty meal... with late coaching changes"

Yeah it stinks when coaches move on suddenly but I still say it's the best possible time for the program if it's going to happen.  Recruits to college programs aren't children.  They will have to learn to deal with worse in their lives.  People find better job opportunities in almost every field and take them all the time.  You can't blame them for taking advantage of what they think is a better opportunity.  These coaches have one bad season and people are calling for them to be fired.  Welcome to the sports entertainment world young men.  It's a volatile profession where things change quickly but look on the bright side.  You've just received a full ride for your college education.  It includes benefits that other types scholarships don't provide and is a stepping stone to a possible professional career where you could earn millions per year.  Take advantage of the opportunity. If this is the worst disappointment you have to deal with in life you will look back and say how blessed you were.

I'm wondering whether there was any connection between Dylan Mack dropping UT and Rumph taking a lateral move?
