Pumping that UT sunshine

If Gilbert's offense can generate just 4-6 more first downs per game- that alone will help our defense considerably because it should not only lead to more points on the board but improve our field position also.  I expect both our O & D to be much improved.  I will be disappointed with less than 8 wins.

I don't know why but Merrick reminds me of Colt- wouldn't that be a hoot.

I'm sure he stayed in town mostly, but he was in Southlake to recruit LJH...
I take that as a very good sign

My vision is to have Burt, Johnson and LJH out there at same time

Lined up against 5'9 - 5'10 CBs and nickels. I think I could complete passes in that scenario

If Giblet temporarily left the mad scientist bunker to personally recruit him, then he must have had the same vision

Couple of questions. What was Baylor's run/pass ratio? How does our oline compare to Baylor's. If ours is better then we should be able to run more effectively then Baylor did right?

I can only be sure of one thing when it comes to who will play QB next season for Texas. That is whoever Coach Strong decides is his QB will have my full support. Anything else is 100% hubris.

I hate reading into these type of things. All i want is a winner under center or in the shotgun.

They ran it 714 times for 4247 yards in 13 games this year. They obviously put a bigger emphasis on the run once Russell was out and then a much bigger focus when they lost Stidham and Johnson.

Baylor passed for 3764 yards on 389 passing attempts in 2015.

In 2014, they passed 519 times and ran it 619 times, with 84 of those attempts coming from the QB Petty.

In 2013, they passed 448 times and ran it 626 times, with 94 of those attempts from Petty.

They are pretty balanced, which makes their offense so devastating to stop if the run game is clicking.

I'm used to seeing a Briles offense with smaller backs, so Texas' offense this year will be a good case study on the run game.

I don't mean the following to sound as if I am talking down to others, but people just don't understand how important the OL is in executing an offense.

Baylor had an OL that was bigger than the majority of the NFL teams lines.  They pretty much could do with a defense whatever they wanted - run or pass.

The game against us was a prime example - when they ran an RB at QB and ran all over us - damn near beat us.

Our 2005 team had an awesome OL and I promise you no one knew it better than VY.
