towards Newsome ..it seems hes a bit torn after he made his decision to flip to texas yet againDo we know who this was directed towards?
I keep reading how this kid and that kid cannot make a decision and live with it. Well maybe I'm off base due to my advanced years but if the kids are not grown up enough to decide, then they are probably not mature enough for D1 sports. This is not directed entirely at Newsome but it seems to me many of todays athletes are pampered and worshiped, therefore they feel entitled (I had hoped we were past this stage at Texas). If they are not mentally tough, then they better grow up in a hurry because the real world is not going to always put them on a pedestal. What I've read about the Florida kids, most have not had a silver spoon in their mouth (not saying Newsome has)- that is what gives them a mental edge. Making a decision and living with its consequences is life. Own your decisions & make the best of them. Grow a set. Here's hoping Newsome can come to terms with the decisions made today. Feel bad for the kid - it really sounds like he was torn to hell over this whole situation.

I remember that hit. For some reason Texas High has been down as far as D1 athletes the last few years. They are at Liberty Eylau.Yes, and I was the one way back then who was telling anyone who would listen that he was special. Texas High is a great place to stay under the radar. lol

Then he's better off at Texas than anyplace else. He'll have focused teammates who can encourage him that it pays to get grounded, achieve and be all you can be. Answers a lot of the undefined restlessness in a person. One word for it is "Chop Wood, Carry Water." Just get busy because more than half of what is troubling a person is self-induced inside their head on top of the already core matter that started bothering them in the first place. Going 24x7 with the conditioning, following the steps, applying yourself, bonding with guys doing the same -- and mostly knowing that no one on the squad is cuttin' corners -- basically will clear out a lot of that noise. Get busy, get outside your head and get grounded and productive. Do, do, do. Stop thinking.I keep reading how this kid and that kid cannot make a decision and live with it. PS: And this decision he is struggling so with is to get a free education at either The University of Texas or UCLA- boy now that's tough. Life should be so cruel.
I said the same thing to an Aggie friend today. He told me "He's not going MLB. He is projected as a 3rd-5th round pick." I told him "No, he is being projected as a first round pick. I have seen him ranked as high as the 20's in multiple articles." His reply cracked me up: "Well I am going to ignore you and just believe a random internet poster on TexasAgs."I don't think Murray ever plays a down of football for them. Hello MLB draft.
He really sent that out towards Newsome? Bold and in your face if true. I would hope he would try and welcome him rather than belittle him. Of course it could have been directed at disgruntled fans?towards Newsome ..it seems hes a bit torn after he made his decision to flip to texas yet again
. Well I don't thinks its unusual to make a major life decision and be torn as to what to do. Maybe the kid is just feeling hurt by the venom from the UCLA social universe. I think he will be great when he gets hereI keep reading how this kid and that kid cannot make a decision and live with it. Yea, it is strange that the pipeline sorta dried up quickly for us there at Texas High. I was a big Mallet fan. Can't believe Mack screwed the pooch on that. Still bitter today. lolI remember that hit. For some reason Texas High has been down as far as D1 athletes the last few years. They are at Liberty Eylau.
Speaking of LE, they have a soon to be junior DE that Baylor and some others are already scouting. Don't be surprised if LE is not in the class 4A D1 chamionship game next year.
I really should not. Lets just say I expect we'll hear about this again down the road.SHA can you expand on why you believe Mack recruitment still ongoing?
Stacked? Na. They'll be fighting Gladewater for 2nd/3rd in district.Down the street at Atlanta, they have produced some good athletes on occasion. I hear they're stacked again next year?
It isn't still going. That makes no sense. He is an ag. If you want to read the story of what happened look for Higs stuff coming out later this week. His source is the coaching staff. He said it will take a couple days to finish it but it will be on Mack, Murray, and everything between.SHA can you expand on why you believe Mack recruitment still ongoing?
I think that was pure speculation it was towards Newsome. No offense to anyone but I don't think it was. I think you hit it on the nail about fans. People are giving Kai, Locke, and Newsome all shit for flipping. He really sent that out towards Newsome? Bold and in your face if true. I would hope he would try and welcome him rather than belittle him. Of course it could have been directed at disgruntled fans?
