I look forward to reading that. I think the poster didn't necessarily mean ongoing, but rather we'll hear more about this later. It isn't still going. That makes no sense. He is an ag. If you want to read the story of what happened look for Higs stuff coming out later this week. His source is the coaching staff. He said it will take a couple days to finish it but it will be on Mack, Murray, and everything between.
Yeah... lol read it wrong. I was thinking how the hell are people still holding onto hope about this kid.I look forward to reading that. I think the poster didn't necessarily mean ongoing, but rather we'll hear more about this later.
Nothing can stop Mack from being aggy now.
Anyone that followed HS football in the early 80s knew about Everett. We would load the station wagon and go see Daingerfield play in the playoffs like everyone else in ET during those times.Yea, it is strange that the pipeline sorta dried up quickly for us there at Texas High. I was a big Mallet fan. Can't believe Mack screwed the pooch on that. Still bitter today. lol
LE always has some good athletes. The kid that went to Oregon, wanted him bad. Mack seemed reluctant to go very many places in ET and when he went, it had to be a lean to Texas to start off with. In hindsight, you can see where Mack's failings came.
Baylor has always combed ET for the diamonds in the rough. A guy I played with ended up an All American safety at Baylor, then started in two Super Bowls. Baylor was his only major college offer. Thomas Everett was his name.
Down the street at Atlanta, they have produced some good athletes on occasion. I hear they're stacked again next year?
SOP. They're not going to admit to offering it because in the case they do get turned down they don't want the guy eventually hired to be looked at as 'second choice' or worse. Also - no one likes to be turned down and Texas doesn't want the perception out there that they can't hire their top choice.Did I understand that Strong did NOT offer the TE coaching job to McGuire (spelling & name)?
