It isn't still going. That makes no sense. He is an ag. If you want to read the story of what happened look for Higs stuff coming out later this week. His source is the coaching staff. He said it will take a couple days to finish it but it will be on Mack, Murray, and everything between.
I look forward to reading that. I think the poster didn't necessarily mean ongoing, but rather we'll hear more about this later.

Nothing can stop Mack from being aggy now.

Yeah... lol read it wrong. I was thinking how the hell are people still holding onto hope about this kid.

Yea, it is strange that the pipeline sorta dried up quickly for us there at Texas High. I was a big Mallet fan. Can't believe Mack screwed the pooch on that. Still bitter today. lol

LE always has some good athletes. The kid that went to Oregon, wanted him bad. Mack seemed reluctant to go very many places in ET and when he went, it had to be a lean to Texas to start off with. In hindsight, you can see where Mack's failings came.

Baylor has always combed ET for the diamonds in the rough. A guy I played with ended up an All American safety at Baylor, then started in two Super Bowls. Baylor was his only major college offer. Thomas Everett was his name.

Down the street at Atlanta, they have produced some good athletes on occasion. I hear they're stacked again next year?
Anyone that followed HS football in the early 80s knew about Everett.   We would load the station wagon and go see Daingerfield play in the playoffs like everyone else in ET during those times.

I really hope Strong hires an excellent recruiter for East Texas.  Texas can't let the Daylon Macks go to Aggie.

Did I understand that Strong did NOT offer the TE coaching job to McGuire (spelling & name)?

Speaking of this comment, If Brown was still here today, he would not pursue Daylon because of not being an early lean as well as taking plays off.

Mack told the Texas High coaching staff that he did not want Jason Peters from Queen City because he took plays off. Peters went to Piggy and is now in his 11th year in the NFL with the Eagles.

Brown didn't pursue kids like Strong will and that is why I think the classes will only get better each year.

Mack did not like to be turned down. If a kid didn't say he wanted  to go to Texas, Mack usually would not offer them. He wanted people to think kids just couldn't say no to him. Ego maniac....

SOP. They're not going to admit to offering it because in the case they do get turned down they don't want the guy eventually hired to be looked at as 'second choice' or worse. Also - no one likes to be turned down and Texas doesn't want the perception out there that they can't hire their top choice.

First two years at Texas. Previous four years at Louisville.

I realize there are different rankings, and composites.

Got ten of the twelve. This fan art unfolded after Cecil Cherry committed.

Not bad prognosis and Wishful Thinking. Amazing they held together as they did.

James Locke came in at the end and can take Irvin's place.

Du'Vonte Lampkin can step up and take Daylon Mack's place.

During the drive home tonight Bucky and sidekick had a couple of good interviews with Brett Hagar and Johnnie Johnson.  Really good perspective on parents view of Coach Strong.

On a "we dodged another bullet" note they also discussed how Coach Strong and team took a look at the early scholarship Mack Brown had offered to 2015/2016 prospects.  They decided to tell the players their offer needed additional evaluation.  Of course, no surprise, one was a QB who signed with Sam Houston State today.  Good Grief!
