I see it a bit differently. The Alamo bowl is getting a bad deal with the conference
realignments. I would guess they knew that the SEC bowl tie ins were very unlikely to agree, but figured they may as well ask.

It's all business with everyone looking out for themselves, so I don't think this has anything to do with any payback to Yormark.

To your point, I think the Bowls with SEC tie ins would want Texas and ou so that they can get some new blood going to their games. The SEC and the SEC bowls probably weighed in. I hope we don't have to go to any bowls for the foreseeable future.

If it were up to me, FBS teams would not be allowed to play FCS teams.

Those games are very helpful to the FCS teams financially.

If you made this rule, it would be cool to see FBS teams schedule FCS opponents for a true spring game. FBS team benefits from getting an opponenet in a different jersey and the FCS team can still get a nice pay out. Networks would probably be more likely to air these games

New schools with large fan bases are a positive for a bowl, but no matter what no bowl is going to give up a potential pick unless they have to, or are compensated enough.

Hope we are not looking thru burnt orange lens thinking we are gonna storm SEC. We played Bama tuff and LSU Beating Bama & Ga. We didn6 play whole season. Are we taking in account that Quinn has talented receivers but no chemistry, as with Sanders,Whit,Smith & Worthy. Not mention DL & DB.
