Lil Christmas Info

New post on Orangebloods seems to be heavily pointing towards Fisher.
I saw that. I have total respect for EM.

Basically, everything he said is true. Except it's true after Saban and is a backup plan. So his info is solid, but sounds incomplete, imo.

IMO, the timing is perfect. By Jimbo's bowl game, we're either set with Saban announced or got left at the altar and are just waiting on the hotty bridesmaid to return from the powder room. ;)

Sir--it was LHR's post with Fisher's wife in the pic talking about a possible house....

Longhorn realtor posted something that points toward fishers wife closing on a house. He gives no other info though and hard to tell exactly what he's claiming

LHR is a friend, so I'll give him a call and see whats up.

I may not have pointed this out before and just thought about it . . . my source is still firm with Saban to Texas, not backing off at all. Still confident as before. Not surprised at the Fisher talk as he knew that was in the works as a backup. But the thing I didn't mention before was about the Mack-legal action thing. That did not come from my source as while he knew about it, he did not think it had wheels (no faith in Mack actually filing anything). The info about Mack came from McPhaul and I've played defense since it broke just trying to help make sense of it. I'm not a legal guy, so when news like that comes across my ears I don't know what an attorney would be able to compute, as I think one or two here did yesterday. Plus, McPhaul's source is pretty high up the food chain.

So if I go by my source alone (as of an hour ago), Saban is coming and Mack is not a threat. He has, speaking his own mind to me, told that because the guy's name is Saban and because of the last-minute surprise last time - Jimbo's receptiveness and our liking him has him perched as the auto-go-to should Saban pull a Saban.

Hopefully, that clears something up that I didn't realize I had not made clear before.

Was it LHR that also said Saban had closed on a house in Austin? Or was that someone else? I cant remember which stories are which any more its all become murky to me. Hope we find out soon. Was wishing for a good Xmas present!

I'm just excited to see the OB front page reading "Saban to Texas" or "Jimbo to Texas". Until I read these words, I take everything as a grain of salt and as pure speculation. Regardless, it's interesting to see where this will play out. Hopefully it ends with Mack riding off into the sunset, Saban/Jimbo in Burnt Orange, and Tony Brown wearing a Texas uniform next fall.

Actually, that was Jesus Shuttlesworth. But I do think there were others on OB talking about it and maybe also reporting they had some first hand info on it.

And he never backed off that. When Saban declined at the last minute when Mack wouldn't step down, he began looking into what would happen now with the house. By the time, he got on to that, Patterson was already talking to Saban again. So no real time to do anything one way or the other for the Sabans.

IMO, this and perhaps going by real estate transactions, isn't the best way to confirm anything but I agree, it is interesting and something to talk about. Even in Jesus' case with the Saban house.

My ears light up when I hear facts and comments coming from his source more than anything else.

I took his post as sarcasm.

possible. Im sure he's a nice guy but he's been a bit obsessed ;lately with making fun of anyone who claims to have any inside info. Even saying it should be banned from anyone discussing.

should Saban pull a Saban.
We can call that, "You got Saban'd!"

If that happens, I look forward to Fisher-led Texas team kicking a Saban-led Bama team in a NC game in 3-4 years.

I don't think Texas can go wrong with either Saban or Fisher. I am just gonna sit back and enjoy the bowl season. Hopefully the first week I am back at work Texas has a formal announcement for a new coach.

I have a question for anyone who has an inroad with the Jamail clan, now that MBTF is gone who does JJ want?

But to be clear - Saban was coming to Texas right up until right Black Friday's events.

Do you have a link to this or are you willing to reveal which of the Sabans told you this?

And according to what I've heard, he's coming the first week of January.

Once again - Do you have a link to this or are you willing to reveal which of the Sabans told you this?

Understand I am not calling you out as a liar, Sirhornsalot, far from it, but I no longer believe any poster who makes unequivocable statements, like yours, without positive proof. Telling me you heard it from a "reliable source" no long holds any water with me. Had you prefaced your remarks with "This is my opinion" I would understand.

I tend to believe McPhaul's and El Mahico's comments because I know who their inside sources are. I don't know where you get your information, however.

Don't be mad at me, you would say the same if you were in my shoes - right? :)

1. I think the Black Friday thing is well documented. I don't have a link for you but I'm fairly certain they were floated in abundance a day or so after it went down.

2. This came from my source. He's giving you what he can. What you're wanting, I'm afraid, would probably require a fee and I have no idea if that even exists. I am what I am. If that's not meeting your standard, I'm sorry. You're always free to believe what you want.

The whole concept of insider info lends itself to simple, good info in the rawest of forms. You're asking for links. I have phone conversations. The first time I record one and post it, my source is over.

What you want is not what I am. Sorry.

Actually the "Black Friday" thing was NOT documented. At least the only documentation I have read is blog moderators and posters saying this is what they "heard" went on behind the scenes. If, in fact, you have documentation whereby Saban said he wasn't coming, because of the Mack debacle, I would love to see it.

My "standard" was actually developed because of blogs and posters, like yourself, making claims that, so far, have proven to be 100% inaccurate. As I said in another post, I have been burned once and I won't be burned again.

You are saying that you received your information from "someone" whom you insinuate had some kind of inside connection. I have no reason to doubt you on this. But, SOMEONE was wrong - either you, your sources or Saban.

Look, I understand how blogs work - everything reported must be taken with a heavy dose of salt. I get this.

Hell, I have my own source. He has been my personal friend for over 40 years and is God father to my children. He is a VERY wealthy UT contributor, a former player for DKR, previously on the BOR and been on several search committees. See, I have provided more information, about a source, than than you and many others have, already. But, because of our relationship, I respect his privacy and have never reported what he has told me on a blog.

Please forgive me for sounding like a condescending SOB - chalk it off to my age and my medical career. It's sort of a curse. :)

I think thats what most people in the know would do. Give information to those they know wont go and tell the entire world. There's very few people that actually know(imo) whats going on and if something credible gets out it wont take long to find the leak and then that persons livelihood is in jeopardy for telling a so called friend what is happening. If I was in a position that had information like that I wouldnt be out telling just anyone and especially probably not someone that's working for a message board. I think there's a little bit of truth in everything but its becoming very hard to distinguish what that is in this case. We arent talking about inside information with recruits here. We are talking about coaches where there can be some serious legal ramifications if we go about this the wrong way(ie. contacting a coach without permission from their employer). I hope we find out in the next two weeks and every one is civil if its not the person they want it to be.
