I get what Duke C is saying. It is getting really irritating having all these people calling for Charlie's head because of rumors and innuendos about infidelity that may or may not have occurred. Yes we have some inside info saying that it happened and that UT system knew about it. But we have a bunch of "Holier than thou" people now coming out ready to burn him at the stake, without knowing all the details.
Does it look bad, sure. But apparently him and his wife are doing ok, his family life seems to be in order and anything, if it did happen seems to be reconciled and forgiven. Who are we to demand a perceived justice, or feel some sort of affront from something that happened before he even became head coach. Something that, if the inside information is correct, he was upfront and honest about with the administration. How does that not follow his core values. "IF" this did happen, and he was honest about it, no matter how embarrassing to himself and his family - and believe me this sort of thing is not something you are proud of - if this happened, he was honest about it, no matter how difficult, is that not following his core values?
Every man, and woman, has made mistakes in their life, all have regrets. Have any of you ever lied to your spouse or significant other? If not, then by all means, cast the first stone. Have any of you ever, omitted information that you knew may have hurt or damaged someone you cared about? If not, then cast the first stone. Have you ever done anything you weren't supposed to do or done something you had to ask forgiveness of another for? If not, then by all means, cast the first stone. But if not, just remember, in the future, if you want to receive forgiveness, or be given the benefit of the doubt, then you must first be willing to forgive and give others the benefit of the doubt.
