Is Coach Strong In Trouble??

I get what Duke C is saying.  It is getting really irritating having all these people calling for Charlie's head because of rumors and innuendos about infidelity that may or may not have occurred.  Yes we have some inside info saying that it happened and that UT system knew about it.  But we have a bunch of "Holier than thou" people now coming out ready to burn him at the stake, without knowing all the details.

Does it look bad, sure.  But apparently him and his wife are doing ok, his family life seems to be in order and anything, if it did happen seems to be reconciled and forgiven.  Who are we to demand a perceived justice, or feel some sort of affront from something that happened before he even became head coach.  Something that, if the inside information is correct, he was upfront and honest about with the administration.  How does that not follow his core values.  "IF" this did happen, and he was honest about it, no matter how embarrassing to himself and his family - and believe me this sort of thing is not something you are proud of - if this happened, he was honest about it, no matter how difficult, is that not following his core values?

Every man, and woman, has made mistakes in their life, all have regrets.  Have any of you ever lied to your spouse or significant other? If not, then by all means, cast the first stone.  Have any of you ever, omitted information that you knew may have hurt or damaged someone you cared about? If not, then cast the first stone.  Have you ever done anything you weren't supposed to do or done something you had to ask forgiveness of another for? If not, then by all means, cast the first stone.  But if not, just remember, in the future, if you want to receive forgiveness, or be given the benefit of the doubt, then you must first be willing to forgive and give others the benefit of the doubt.

So, in other words, we're not allowed to express our thoughts, observations, or opinions about this situation?

Post of the year of what Pete just said right there. Totally agree and Pete,in addition to what you just posted there ,having said all that, this is why our team and our Coach needs our support no matter what.
Based on what we really know so far, which is very little, I agree that there is no reason to not support Strong.

However, I also acknowledge the possibility that things could be revealed that would make it difficult to support him, as you say, "no matter what".

So, in other words, we're not allowed to express our thoughts, observations, or opinions about this situation?
Come on NTG, no where did I state you can't express your thoughts, observations, or opinions.  I was simply stating mine, and my frustrations at everyone already calling for Charlie's head, when very little is actually known at this point.  I was also stating my opinion that even if something did occur, who are we to judge?  So thank you for stating your opinions, but please don't put words in my mouth.  Your summation of my points is a little off.

If anybody wants to show their ass, who am I to tell them they can't? Discretion is not a crime either.

I spoke with one of my friends a few minutes ago. He's spoken with his contact at UT.

Apparently, CS did have an affair with the person in question. Apparently, Texas knew about this when they made an offer to him to become HC at Texas. He said when Texas vets a candidate for a position, they leave no stone unturned.

He said there has been some moronic rumblings about firing CS over this. Can't happen when you knew about it and hired him anyway, even if the guy who did the hiring is no longer with us (Patterson). Texas hired him, not just Patterson.

So he says common thought is now that Charlie has this season to make something happen. If he shows up with another 5-7, he gone.

In response to the tweets, above. . . . the word "crush" is about as hyperbole as it gets. The man made a mistake. We all do. I think HS kids understand that.
This post is embarrassing.

It was such a well-known secret that no one - anywhere - brought it up at the time Strong was hired or after.

IT has backed off of their initial report that 'everyone knew' - to now they're saying 'we're not sure'.

No one has a f##king clue.  This might amount to nothing more than a fishing expedition by a pissed off husband who will do whatever he can to annoy/embarrass his soon to be ex.  Little chance the judge rules in Blue's favor on any of the requests in that document.

Let's assume Steve Patter$on and a handful of UT insiders did know. Why the hell would they broadcast it? An extramarital affair sure isn't something we'd want to disclose.

I hope you're right about the KY judge not ruling against Coach Strong.

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, you did not explicitly state that you can't express your thoughts, observations, or opinions. But it came across that way to me which is why I posed the question that I did.

So you don't have to thank me for me for stating my opinion since I did not, in fact, state an opinion. It was a question.

Excellent post Pete.

So you guys like giving rumors or not to Mr. Blue and his lawyers. Who are you people. You really do not know the "STORY"....what if Blue's lawyers use this shittttttt information from HornSports.....You guys are screwed up

Sirhornsalot, wasn't going to post, but here I am again. I was curious about the man that got up in my face yesterday and checked out your business website. A tip of the old Horn helmet to you. It's a first class site and reflects an outstanding team, with family values. Seriously, congrats. Also, want to thank you for saying 'when I grow up'. Made me feel young, and got me almost as excited as getting carded would. I've got you by a few years and retired about 8 yrs ago. A second tip of the old helmet.

I, also, gained some knowledge of the inter workings of boards. It really doesn't matter if one tries to point out logic or fair treatment of those in the news. Some are going to do what they want, regardless. Each has his or her own reasons and looks to the first amendment as rational. Ok, so be it. Although, it might be useful to ask if what one plans to say is beneficial to the person or our school, or am I doing either or both a disservice by perpetuating an unproven rumor.

I admit I am a big fan of Charlie. He is a old school football guy that greatly reminds me of one of my early coaches. Tough, hard nosed, has high expectations, good teacher, commands respect and the kids would run through walls for him. This young savages deal was started by the kids and they are not only proud of it, they are ready to defend it. It grew out of the teams culture.

As has been said so well by others, there really isn't a desire to sweep anything under a rug, just a wish to wait and see what the real truth is. I just hate to see Charlie tried in the media when there is no current reason. The more it's discussed now, the more doubt grows in some people's minds. Personal opinion- that's not fair to the man. Hook'em

I am embarrassed for you. All you did was throw a public tantrum and actually used IT as some cockeyed reason for my source not being credible. I'm not a member over there and haven't spoke to JS in about a year.

You have no idea who has a clue and who doesn't.

Let's put it this way . . . lol. . . if Blue's lawyers resort to something that lame, then Blue deserves whatever he gets for hiring a 7-11 clerk to represent him.

Thanks for checking out our website . . I think.

Age doesnt make you right or wrong so your age means little to nothing to me with regard to what you said in your post. I'd hope that you'd act older in what you have to say in your future posting.

I don't think your post pointed out any logic or even fair treatment – which is partly why I responded. If you were being logical in the least, you'd never suggest avoiding or being upset with the possibility of the truth, which you did.

The truth is the truth. It does not matter who the truth benefits. If Charlie has done something wrong, then we have to accept that and deal with it. Not run from it or cuss out people who mention it.

I must have missed what was said so well said by others. And it's completely comical that some message board discussion by people who don't matter squat creates doubt. I mean, look at yourself here. You're convinced I'm wrong. Pardon me, but aren't you a living example of how you're own words are wrong? LOL

But hey, at least you've created a following with Mike. LOL

You say this to every person who questions you or your "sources" Why is that? You act like you are the only authority on UT news and no one else can have real info or a valid opinion. Very odd.

Also a 2nd question. Why do you never post your "info" on HD?  I would guess you are concerned about being called on it by those there who are really in the know.
