1. Adds fuel to the fire Herman now movement. Losing Ewers would be like losing to Okie State twice.

2. Shows that the recruits have little faith in Herman being here next year.

He can play for a national contender or wallow in the sewer that herman has created.

I know this isn’t a recruiting thread but Ewers is a program changer, there’s a reason he’s ranked higher than Lawrence and Fields were. The longer they wait with the inevitable the worse it gets with 2021 recruits (if that’s possible) and even with 2022 recruits. They simply CANNOT miss on this hire or it sets the program back 5-10 years if not longer. There is really only one option here and it’s Urban there is no 1B. Before anyone comments Campbell, Fleck, Franklin just stop it’s Urban or bust. If they can’t get Urban then I frankly don’t know what to say other than Texas is SOL. If you care for the programs future you won’t be one bit upset if Texas loses Saturday, this is coming from a kid who’s been a fan since he was 9 in shitty ole North Dakota so cant imagine what alums feel like but it can’t be good.

$8-9M and a chance to win a championship at a 3rd different school is going to be hard to turn down for Urban. Egos drive these guys.

1. Our players were overrated coming out of high school
   
2. Our coaching sucks

Biggest difference is Nebraska has no in-state recruiting base to recover quickly.

We do. NU effectively cut off their TX recruiting pipeline leaving the Big 12. They should come back, (Arkansas, too) but won't because "academic prestige". ?

You know what’s crazy is we won the Tech game by a miracle. Held on for dear life against Baylor or our record could be much worse

Yes. The whole herman tenure has been a fraud. Kansas is the only game I give us a shot at. Of coarse we had difficulty with the mighty jayhawks last year.

But I think what happens in the next 5 games no longer matters. Tom is out. And it could happen after the Okie St. game if we lose. All depends on how fast the deal with Urban comes together. The powers-that-be are not going to let this go completely down the drain which it is very, very close to doing.
