He was a blazing fast pass-rushing OLB who our coaching staff moved to MLB to wrestle with interior OL-men so that he could "be in on more tackles."

IMO, he was badly mishandled his first 2 or so years.

I get it, but why give yourself the aggravation? I don't know if you remember a recruit by the name of Desean Hales, but he had the best high school tape I had ever seen for a WR. He saw the field for maybe 10 plays in his college career. Him coupled with Garrett Gilbert taught me to take the bad with good when it came to players who didn't live up to their billing. Another was the LB Charlie Strong recruited (his name escapes me at the moment).

Off topic, but I think the best HS player I ever saw in person was OJ McClintock. He was caught up in the bizarre "spin down" era on the 40, and went from: WR to Safety to LB and ended his career at DE. He got gametime, but never started. I thought this was a travisty.
