A few quick first half thoughts.

No reason this shouldn't end being a 40+ point victory. San Jose State is that bad.

Any player who can't play good against San Jose State is struggling.

It is San Jose State, but Sam is playing decently. 

Would like see Heard throw the ball some just to keep the other team honest.

Sam is playing pretty well.  Early miscommunication with receivers but for a true freshman it is expected.

Im highly impressed. And as SHA  always says.... kid has the MOXIE. He isn't scared... think Shane is thinkin bout what happened to Romo and Prescott last year  ^_^

Also just putting in my unpopular opinion. That was not a good first half. Texas shouldn't be up by 21 and is getting bailed out tons by an inferior team. This secondary is really, really bad. I don't know what is going on there. Kyle Porter needs to stop getting snaps. He is horrible in space and cannot break a tackle to save his life. As Ryan recently mentioned, this game could be tied or fairly close.

I just don't want to see this board turn into one that allows bashing of players. I get that we can all run a bit hot at times, but let's try to keep it in check. It's one of the things that makes HornSports enjoyable on game days compared to others. If a guy messes up, makes a bonehead play, make mention. Let's not get personal. Every kid on this team isn't here because they have "nothing to input."  

Players and prospective players read this site. As Ron Burgundy would say, "stay classy San Diego."

And trust me, I want Texas to win and be successful as much as anyone on here  

Now, let's look forward to a second half of more Texas points. 

I understand your point... Got it. But as far as "bashing" goes, that was about as mild as it gets. And you call that "getting personal?" That is fairly absurd and beyond hypersensitive. 

 Regardless who reads this... it's a forum to discuss the games and team. He's got 8 rushes for 22 yards today and last week was 8 for 21. Nobody has any illusions about what he's input... whether it's said or not.

Said on twitter that I don't know why they split him out. Seems like a waste of space in that personnel package.

Agreed for the most part... but Sam has no picks because of who we are playing against... if we're playing a decent team he has about 2.

Sam does a great job getting yards with his feet.  It is easy to overlook how accurate Shane has been

A lot of positives and I can see how he can become the unquestioned QB at some point. 

However, I still think Shane gives this team best opportunity to win now.

I've read a lot about Sam's arm being a lot stronger than Shane's (when healthy) I haven't seen anyone throw that makes the case that's it's much more.

In this game patience is so important.
