*****Game Thread: TEXAS vs. OU*****

As mentioned, spot on assessment.

as usual, I agree with joeywa.  Hah, I always agree with Joeywa.  Force of habit.

i don’t think the UM thing will work out timing wise anyway.  Let’s go steal that young up and comer from North Carolina.

we got a punt blocked, we got what might have been a game winning FG blocked, our QB got picked twice in the end zone.. we got guys doing a flex pose after a hit even though that receiver they were covering just caught the ball to set up first and goal. I guess its true that teams take on the personality of their coach...Even the MB teams were nice guys who should have won multiple titles but only squeezed out one thanks to VY....This team seems to be more concerned about how they look and being cool instead of getting the job done on the field...

We are 2-2, we could be 4-0, we probably deserve to be 1-3..this team has broken my heart...AGAIN.

I watch other games and CBs aren't 9yds off the WR, no they are press overage.  I see OL that actually run block.  LBs that use these appendiges called arms to wrap up who they are tackling.  Its just so discerning to see what was supposed to be tallent thru recruiting look like freshman high school players amongst men.  Our program is just so so far behind right now.

The IT guys said that CDC is one of the top AD's in the country. However, he's stuck with all the money the University is losing. Herman will be owed 20 million after this year.

The big money donors will have to pass the hat and if that happens they will have a big say on who will be the next coach. If that's the case then it's probably Urban Meyer.  They said Meyer wants the job

They said everything must be done to keep Quinn Ewers. He's the future. Herman wasted the Sam era and wouldn't trust him with Ewers.

I would have been ok with a loss if Texas had gone for 2 with 14 sec on the clock in the 4th qtr. I think that would at least prove that herman wanted to beat the sooners. He didnt go for it and opted to kick the fg for the tie and go to overtime. In my opinion herman didnt want to be blamed for the loss if we didnt make that 2pt conversion instead he put it on his players to win it in overtime. It really gets under my skin that herman was willing to give the the sooners an opprotunuity to get the ball back and to win the game. He did it twice. I feel bad for sam i know hes a winner but his coach put him in a situation where the odds were against him. Tom let us all down. I apologise for the rant but im buzzed and still pissed.

Hookem

I'm watching Ole Miss run up and down the field on this Alabama defense.

Lane Kiffin anyone?

Did I hear that Sam was the only player to stay for the “Eyes” after the game?
I hope I’m wrong.

Not saying it is wrong. I guess with all of the UM garbage (and wonder how long will he last), I wonder if Texas is selling their soul to the devil?

As “The Eyes of Texas” played a recorded version over the sound system — bands were not allowed inside — Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger was one of the few UT players to stand and flash the “Hook Em” on the field

"How do we get a group of guys that want to be great to translate their play in practice to the games?" Herman asked. "That's Job No. 1 right now."

That question shouldn't be asked in Year 4 of a regime. Every team in the country started with the same hinderance -- COVID-19. Texas has taken steps backward on its way out of the top 25. The 'Horns started the game with the sixth-most penalties among Power Five teams. Then they went out and committed 11 more against the Sooners, which added 10 tackles for loss, a blocked punt and a blocked kick.

Then the team is fractured.
The new president has a committee to investigate the history of the Eyes of Texas. I heard the coaches were made to stay. You can flame me all you want but I bet the whole thing is Carrington bitching about having to stay. He been one of the main outspoken one since this started. If he doesn’t like it go work somewhere else. I don’t give a crap. Again we are spending more time on this stuff than getting ready to play football. Texas made a good faith effort with several concessions, but guess what......it’s not good enough. Guess what else.......no matter what they do it won’t be good enough. That’s why I’m ready for all of them to go and any players that don’t like it can go too. I’d give anything to have a degree and get to play football at the University of Texas. But that’s not good enough. We’re all racist. I’d like to see Urban because he’s isn’t going to coddle the players. He’s going to be there to win football games and that’s it. We’re are going to have to have a change of culture because for the last 10 years this hasn’t worked

Per the 1999 media guide J Mac won cotitle in 1994 and conference titles in 1995 and1996. Just looked it up some how i thoughthe won three outrites.
