Max Belyeu is listed as "probable" for the OU series.

Texas, which dropped from No. 1 to No. 3 in D1Baseball's latest rankings released on Monday, needs one win in its upcoming weekend series at rival Oklahoma to clinch the SEC regular-season championship in the Longhorns' first season in the SEC.

The Longhorns (40-10, 20-7 SEC) have a two-game lead in the SEC on No. 8 Arkansas (41-11, 18-9 SEC) with three regular-season games left - and a three-game lead on LSU (40-12, 17-10 SEC), which became the new No. 1 in D1Baseball's rankings on Monday. Florida State (36-11, 16-8 ACC) is ranked No. 2; Texas is No. 3; North Carolina (35-16, 16-11 ACC) is No. 4 and Oregon (38-13, 19-8 Big Ten) is No. 5.

No. 1 Texas Longhorns baseball players meeting after 'most disappointing loss of season'

After what Texas baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle called "my most disappointing loss of the season," several team leaders spoke in the locker room after Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Florida Gators. The topic? Competing better.

Texas catcher Ryalan Galvan, shortstop Jalin Flores, first baseman Kimble Schuessler, pitcher Dre Deplantier and right fielder Max Belyeu spoke with the team after the Longhorns dropped their fifth of the last six conference games. No. 1 (for now) Texas is now in danger of falling out of first place in the SEC with just a week left in the regular season.

"We just addressed the elephant in the room," Galvan said after the game. "This was embarrassing. It is what it is. We gotta attack the upcoming week. We had a chance to clinch the SEC championship at home in front of the fans who've supported us, on Mother's Day, on Senior Day, and obviously didn't get it done. We didn't play to the standard we wanted to."

Schlossnagle agreed.

"This is my most disappointing loss of the season," the first year Longhorns coach said. "Senior Day at home, playing for a [SEC regular-season] championship, and tip your cap to [Florida pitcher Aidan] King. I mean, maybe that was the reason, but we'll find out. Just really disappointed in this one."

Switching around the pitching a bit: Bing tonight, then Ruger and Luke.

Possibly positioning the rotation for post season play with Ruger on Friday, Luke on Saturday.

I am curious what this would mean for SEC tournament, our first game will be Thursday. Would Bing get that start too?

Also, possible that Schloss is sandbagging game 1 against OU vs their stellar ace pitcher. Then really focus our strengths in winning games 2/3.

No way! If your best isn't good enough then you're playing with the psyche of the team.

He might be setting things up for the tournament/post season but not for 1 series. I can't believe a coach would do that--play it "safe", if you haven't clinched anything.

Did Galvan look like he pulled/tweaked a hammy? His was grimacing as he crossed home plate.

After 8 complete tied at 4. LSU lost tonight. arkie is losing 7-3 in the top of the 7th. Blown save by Volantis.

Miss State 25
