Coaching Changes, Rumors, Misc.

We need to back up a minute and take a deep breath. Some are getting riled up on suppositions, opinions from other websites, or posters here. There have been a lot of assumptions based on very few facts. The sun will still shine tomorrow and we're gonna be okay.
Are we?  2010 - 2019 might suggest otherwise ?

Play calling reminds me of batting stance in little league baseball.   It’s the most commented on and stressed over element of offense - but of relatively small importance.

Execution is a gazillion times more important than play calling.  You think the OU 4 man pass rush made our OL look line statues because of play-calling or execution?  I’ll give you a hint... go with the answer that starts with an “e”.  And I’ll hit you where it really hurts.... those sideways passes can be genius.... when they’re executed correctly.

Now I’m going to duck and wait for the reaction....

A new OC will change play calling.   A new OC and position coaches can change execution.

One last thing.... play calling means absolutely nothing, if you can’t block.

For the most part our offense sucked this year.
Texas finished 15th in total yards per game (468.2) and 18th in points per game (35.0).

With a middle of the road defense those stats should win more than 7 games. I think our offense did a good job.

In 2018, we were 59th in total yards per game (411.3) and 47th in points per game (31.1).

So if our offense sucked this year, I hope we suck again next year.

These stats point to the execution issues Dee outlined extremely well. Better execution would have reduced the untimely penalties and likely resulted in more wins and even higher national rankings in offensive stats. It likely would have had a positive impact on the defensive side of the ball as well.

I firmly believe Herman’s seat isn’t that hot. I bet 8 wins next year earns him another year.

Horns offense sucked when it was needed most.

If Herman is kept after an 8 win season next year this program has absolutely settled for mediocrity.

Yup, Harrell signed for 1.2 million per year.    There’s a lot more to it, lol.

Harrell never made sense to me!  It also shows the 9.95er 3 year 2.5 million per year offer was complete BS.
