I believe we can do better.
Chizik's 2015 and 2016 defense units ranked 96th and 63rd nationally, respectively. Chizik resigned on February 2017 to be closer to his family in Auburn, Alabama.[27]

If we hire Scalley then we will have two genius on the staff.

Coombs for sure.
From what I've gathered, seems like Ash, Scalley (Utah), or Heacock (Iowa State) would warrant serious consideration.
Only considering DC w/o factoring in who they could/would bring along (though who the DC brings along is huge), Scalley seems to have a helluva track record.

I'm concerned that it makes sense for Scalley to stay at Utah, have another good year and will get HC offers next year.

Seeing more and more reports from IT, Horns247, and Orangebloods that Harrell and Herman are meeting today.
I would love to get it knocked out tonight and have them interviewing WR and TE coaches the rest of the week while out recruiting!

I have also seen reports that the horns could play USC in the Alamo Bowl, that might get a little interesting

I like that Herman is going after the top offensive coordinators and defensive coordinators. However, the lower teams can offer a HC position.

If Harrell does a good job at UT for two years then he can get a lot better job than UNLV.

The USC board is melting down. USC and Helton are going to be under a lot of pressure to keep Harrell. He may get Joe Brady money.
