At Bama he was one of the best recruiters in the business.

I once said Ole Miss paid players and was using the same tactic in a recruitment. It was silly of me to do that as we all know it's just my knee-jerk reaction at work. Laremy Tunsil confirmed today that it just doesn't happen.

I stand by my comments that I am still not convinced that everyone is paying recruits and until more evidence proves otherwise I will believe this. Also please tell me how Mack Brown and now Strong has been able to recruit some of the talent to Texas they have if all the top players are getting paid. Hell to believe your theory it would be a wonder if Texas could break the top 50 in recruiting rankings. I will also stand by comment that if every time Texas loses a recruit and someone throws out that recruit must be getting paid without a shred of evidence yes that is very aggy. 

So if you feel vindicated that one player got paid good for you but I can understand why this would be so important to you since most if not all of your inside info proved to be wrong any potential of being  close to right is probably pretty important to you.

I guess the lesson here is don't position your opinions as "inside information" if it is not. But, I must say, SHA makes a good point about Bo's recruiting shortcomings at UT. Quite the surprising turnaround at Bama and now it's gotten him in trouble.

I also agree with BM that we shouldn't accuse others of cheating every time we lose a coveted recruit. It does sound very aggy, but admittedly I'm guilty of it too. I can't imagine why any recruit would choose Ole Miss over UT. Does not compute.

I'm not sure you remember your comments. You never addressed whether or not "everyone is paying recruits" and I never made that claim. Thats just your silly straw man desperation shot. lol

I don't accuse SEC teams of paying recruits every time we lose a recruit. Thats a myth.

I was given specific information from someone who is very, very close to the program. The information involved one specific recruit and my comments were equally specific.

I did expound on it and brought up cases in the past where they all had their hands in the cookie jar, most notably the Albert Means saga.

Since the Means saga, the NCAA has become even more soft on the issue. Its why we repeatedly hear "whats the point" with their existence from people all over the nation.
