I liked your post because I love the scond paragraph.
To say they are out recruiting us is to assume we would even want all their commitments ( we wouldn't.) it also assumes our recruits, which are Charlie a Strong type of "citizens" are note going to pan out to be as good and productive as their recruits. It also places more credence on the opinion of a bunch of guys that sit in their underwear in their parents basement eating Chocolat Banana Surprise Hagen Daz Ice Cream while viewing tape of high school football players over the opinion of the man of character we have entrusted our program to. I think a lot of those so called recruiting gurus fast forward those demo steps to the few seconds where the cheerleaders are in view. They then just look at the measurables of the player and make a ranking.
We've seen what winning every recruiting championship, only to not have the vast majority of those players pan out has gotten us.
Aggy used to take poorly ranked classes and say they put their trust in Slocum, Fran.... Whoever, and it didn't exactly work out for them. I however believe we have a coach that can pluck a few highly ranked stars and still fill the class with a roster full of fire breathing football players. Yes, I have enjoyed having recruiting scoreboard over our simple minded little brother but now I'm ready to win championships on the field, in the classroom and in society.
