A few notes on baseball recruiting

David Pierce and the Texas baseball staff continue to be among the best recruiters in the country.

Yesterday, the Longhorns secured a commitment from Dripping Springs 2021 RHP Cameron O'Banan. The sophomore already stands at 6'0, 180 pounds and had his fastball clocked up to 87 MPH this summer. 



Myself and @joeywa will try to keep everyone up to date with commitments. David Pierce, Sean Allen, Philip Miller and Phil Haig are recruiting at a very high level right now.

Nice! Hard to get excited about a class until after the draft, but glad to be off to a good start.

Yall got a great coach in Pierce. Really thought a lot of him when he was @ Tulane.

Baseball recruiting really is tough due to the MLB draft,  then add in the collegiate competition for these youngs players, just makes it a crap shoot until early July.

Brett Baty #55 Nationally rank, this will need to be watched, he is an older Senior, which means that he can be drafted after his Sophomore year of College. Very smooth at the plate and at 3rd.

RHP Jared Southard #140 Nationally, CenTex pitcher that has been working really hard on preparing for his senior year of High School. 45% he shows up on campus.

SS Jaden Woodson(Son for Former Cowboy player, Darren) #199 Nationally. 65% he shows up

RHP/3rdB William Swope, Great young man, very quiet, allows his work on the diamond to speak for themselves. Can be very dominant on the mound and at the plate. 65% he shows up
