Here is another example. Sark isn't going to start a freshman just so they can develop. Why would Pierce?
College football and baseball are very different regarding developing players in games. Football, used to be, 1 loss and your championship hopes are gone. With the expanded playoff, expect to see more backups getting developed in game. A loss doesn't end your season and if things go well you could be playing 16-17 games and need to keep starters healthy. There is an old saying, practice makes perfect. Playing in a game helps you get rid of the butterflies.

IMO relief pitching was a give up. Game got out of hand with no chance of a comeback. What in the world happened tonight in Manhattan? Bottom of the 2nd and our ace just fell apart and bullpen didn't do much to get out of the jam.
Broke a 10 game win streak by Kansas State.Great win!
Pierce needs to fire himself as the pitching coach.Texas won 21~11. Starting pitching has struggled both nights, Hurley struggled out of pen. Main thing was getting the win, need a win tomorrow to stay right at top of Big 12 race.
Actually this appears to have been a good move by Peirce to start Kennedy over O'Dowd. Kennedy is hitting .235 w/an on base % of .339, O'Dowd is hitting .187 w/an on base % of .241.I'm going to complain again. Why is an infielder, flirting with Mendoza line starting at 2nd in the batting order? This is the kind of stuff that gets you fired. Just ask the Rangers manager that started Mendoza enough for him to qualify for a batting title.
