Vasek confirmed with OU 247 that he was in Austin for a visit.
Venables is supposed to have a no-visit policy, so we'll see if anything changes in the next few weeks.

Explain your take on this?
To me, Duce couldn't make it because his HS game got rescheduled to Saturday. His parents decide not to cancel and make the trip anyways, I'm guessing on their own dime at that point. To me, that says the family is serious about Texas as a contender.

We are at the precipice of a major shift in the Texas - Texas A&M landscape. We have been here before, Texas seemingly on the upswing while A&M struggles but things have never quite panned out how we have hoped.
A&M has a tough stretch coming up, 5 of their next 7 in the top 25, the two that are not include road trips to Miss St and S Carolina. Do they rebound and pull off some quality wins or do they crater and end this stretch with 5 or 6 losses on their record? If they stay under .500 winning percentage, things are going to really start to fall apart in college station.
Texas just played one of their best games - and encouragingly looked solid in the trenches on both sides. Defensive and Line play travel and can be a consistent edge for this season. Texas has a very good shot at 9-10 wins, conference championship, etc. Questions at QB linger and the next 2-4 weeks could derail things but there is a lot to be hopeful about this team.
A aggy team 5-7 in the 5th year of Jimbo, anchored by the huge contract along with a 10 win high flying, exciting Sark offense and PK defense could really swing the pendulum back to Austin as we prep for the SEC move in 1-2 years. Time will tell how things play out but I am anxiously excited to watch.

Toviano went to the LSU/Southern game instead over the Texas/Bama game. That can't be a good sign.
